Discover Belfast’s past while exploring life during The Troubles, when conflict, fear, and resilience shaped everyday reality. Guided by two local women — one from a Republican background and one from a Loyalist community — you’ll walk the Falls and Shankill Roads, where murals, streets, and memories reveal how identity, division, and community shaped their childhoods. They share personal stories of loss, strength, everyday routines under threat, and the courage required to hold families and neighborhoods together. Though separated by politics and walls, their experiences reflect a shared determination to protect loved ones and hope for a better future. You’ll also learn how women on both sides supported dialogue, helped sustain the peace process, and continue to work toward reconciliation today. More than a sightseeing tour, this is a reflective, human encounter with lived history — an invitation to hear real voices and understand Belfast through the perspectives of its women.

The walking tour and information divulged was a real unique experience. Our guide Barbara was second to none l. Sharing her own experiences through the troubles were unbelievable. Barbara’s story is of significant historic importance, to be given a person for such as her to share the facts was something very special. This was one of the highlights of our weekend and for my partner Liam, it gave a great sense of pride walking the falls road tour with a deeper appreciation for his heritage, faith and love for being Irish. Thank you so much Barbara ☘️

Very informative tour with local guide who lived through the Troubles. Walked Falls Road and surrounding areas and learned about the history of the troubles, key players and the nationalist point of view. Highly recommend this walking tour for an intimate up-close experience. Ends with a visit to the Republic Museum which is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of the Nationalist movement in Northern Ireland.

Barbara, the guide, was really great! I understood everything she said even if I'm italian, she's very affable, and I learnt a lot about recent northern Ireland history. I was even moved to tears a couple of times... I reccomend it!

Read any other review here and you see Barbara was simply fantastic. Doing a tour with someone who has real lived experience from day one of The Troubles was incredible. Highly recommend! And you can grab lunch right after at The Little Mill right next door to the museum…you’ll be hungry!
