Colin is an excellent guide. He made sure we learned enough about Irish history to appreciate Belfast and the surrounding area. We never felt rushed or hurried, and he gave us an exceptional tour of highlights. Colin spent extra time making sure we got to see and do the things we were most interested in. An extremely informative and helpful tour, with great suggestions of things to do afterwards and places to eat.

Excellent tour, well worth booking. Roisin was lovely, really knowledgeable and engaging, I was honestly worried about my attention span over the course of a few hours after an early flight, but she was so interesting we’d have stayed chatting longer. We booked this for the first morning of our first trip to Belfast to get a sense of the city and where we might want to head to later on, and it was brilliant. We’ve never booked a tour like this before, but based on our experience we absolutely will again. There are lots of more specifically focused tours available, but we wanted to get a general and rounded overview of the city and its layout first. Thank you so much Roisin, and DC tours.

This tour was truly wonderful. Our guide, Mark, said he was only with the company for a few years, but he really knew his stuff. You can read the details of the tour on your own, but I will say it was a great introduction to Belfast, and managed to cover not only a geographical orientation of the area, but also quite a bit of the recent and not-so-recent history. Mark’s background is in military history, which obviously helped! He was very willing to talk to us about the Troubles as well, and it was great to have a local’s perspective on that history, as well as the current movements towards possible reunification. It is a three-hour walk, with a short break for a quick coffee and bathroom stop, so definitely wear your walking shoes. The price was right, and we were a nice small group of seven. In addition to history, we also got a nice orientation to the local eating scene. We had a great time, and cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

My wife and I did the Best of Belfast walking tour through DC tours recently whilst on weekend trip in Belfast. We did the Saturday morning tour at 10am and weather worked out great. Out guide Mylie was wealth of knowledge and very friendly. It was just two of us plus Mylie plus someone that was joining us for training purposes. You get to see a lot across the three hours. Plus there is break for bathroom and coffee and quick bite. You get to see a lot of city centre, learn about history of Belfast plus learn little about the Troubles. We had great time and highly recommend.

Our guide Mark took us on a very interesting tour around Belfast. Cramming in 100s of years of history and information into a couple of hours. As well as some really helpful recommendations for our stay in Belfast. The passion.

A very informative and enjoyable walking tour with our expert local guide Colin. We were transported back in time to the origins of Belfast and the subsequent history that has made the city what it is today. This is Irish hospitality at its best and the love that Colin has for his home city shone through. We received lots of great recommendations and put them to use during our 5 day stay. It was an excellent start to our holiday and we continued to explore the best of Belfast. Thank you. Mike & Emma

Excellent little tour with lots of historical information about Belfast which brings the city to life. The Troubles were discussed and Irish history discussed.

Colin was a great guide, he made us discover how this city is marked by its history. The choice of places, the anecdotes not found in books, legends, characters, ghosts, great thieves, navigators...all made Belfast and its inhabitants today.Thank you Colin, with you it was not a visit, it was a trip!!! I took the “Best of Belfast” walking tour with DC Tours today, and my guide, Colin, was fantastic. Colin is a wonderful guide, a true Belfast local, and clearly passionate about his city. Belfast has such an incredible history that sometimes gets overlooked because of the dark chapter known as the Troubles, which lasted from 1969 to 1998. But before that 30-year period, Belfast was a massive industrial hub for linen and shipbuilding. Colin was so knowledgeable about everything - from the Norman invasion, the United Irishmen, and the booming industries of Victorian times, through the dark years of the Troubles, all the way to the beautiful and thriving city Belfast has become again. Colin gave just the right amount of history, along with great recommendations for the best coffee, places to eat, and even where to buy the best hot chocolate! I would definitely recommend Colin and DC Tours… I’ll be taking the History of Terror tour next!

Our tour guide Mark provided a greatly informative tour of Belfast city centre and associated history. He provided great detailed facts in a relaxed, friendly story telling style which my partner and I both enjoyed thoroughly. This tour is great for newcomers to Belfast and provided us with a great level of understanding of the history of Belfast and notable moments in its history. We highly recommend this tour to others.
