What To Expect
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel between 3:30 and 4:10 am, depends from the location of your accommodation, be sure to wait at reception. During the first hours of the tour, the temperature is cold (5° to 9°C). After 3 hours of travel, you will arrive in Pacchanta, where you will have time to have breakfast. After stopping in Pacchanta, you will begin your journey to the 7 Ausangate lagoons. It's about 5 hours of walking approximately round trip, it's about 13 km walking. First, you will go uphill, followed by some plains and highlands that you lead to the 7 lagoons. The first lagoon is Azulcocha, at the foot of the Humashraju; later you discover the charm of the sublime lagoons Huchuypukacocha, Hatunpukacocha, Tecyacocha, Otorongo Varon, Otorongo Mujer, and Qeyllacocha; each with a special and unforgettable contrast. After seeing the gaps, return to Pacchanta, where you will be waiting for a local lunch. Once you finish lunch you can enjoy the hot springs, then take your transport back to Cusco (center), where you will be dropped off near the Plaza de Armas. Groups arrive between approximately 7 p.m.
