Visit Algiers Casbah with an experienced Algerian tour guide. Come discover the millennial Medina of the Casbah with its narrow streets and beautiful palaces filled with culture and history. Forts, ruins and many other surprises to see and learn about in a full tour of the old city. While in the Casbah, why not try a traditional meal cooked and served by locals in an old house in the heart of the Medina. This can be arranged by our agency as part of your tour.
NB: Please, note if you book a group tour without lunch, there is a chance of taking a lunch pause of about 45-60min for everyone to enjoy Algerian delights then resume the group tour.

What To Expect
The Citadel is the heart of the Casbah, the ancient fortress that once served as the residence of the Ottoman rulers and a military stronghold. Visitors can explore its fortified walls, gates, towers, and inner courtyards while learning about its role in defending the city and its transformation during French colonization. The Citadel also preserves traces of palaces, mosques, and hammams that reflect the Ottoman architectural legacy.

5.00Very nice experience! Our guide was very serious ( Aissa PhD student in architecture ). He took the time to answer all our questions and explained to us the different construction methods of the houses of the Casbah. The tour lasts 2 hours and it is a tour I will not forget.

5.00Since I was the only person on the tour I essentially got a private tour for the price of a group tour! The guide was very friendly and informative. He also helped me out with information about how to withdraw cash from ATMs in Algiers as many arent Visa friendly.

5.00We really enjoyed our tour with Sam. The Casbah can be a little confusing so it's nice to have a guide being you around and saves you a lot of time. He gave lots of interesting facts about the history of Algeria and knew loads about the architecture of the city.
