  The actual Alhambra was great. But when I realized the actual cost of the train and Alhambra ticket Viator charged a LOT. Almost 4x the normal price. Yes it was last minute but still. Part of the problem is companies buy the tickets in advance which then depletes the available tickets available directly with a site. Recommendation: PLAN AND BUY IN ADVANCE to avoid being overcharged. Also I had to pay $2 for ear buds for the train. With how much they charged that should have been free.

  This was a total rip off! All we hadwas entrance tickets. No written guide or map . We did not know what we were looking at. Poor instructions prior to entrance. We were instructed to go to the meeting place, which we did, for no reason. We thought we would have been given audio guides at this point. Nothing! Made our way to the entrance on our own, and proceeded. Never saw a tourist train. This should not be lapeled tour, it should be labeled tickets. We purchased this “tour” well in advance. The ticket price was 21 euros. Viator charged 3X more! Stay away!

  One-Star Review – Alhambra Tickets with Nasrid Palaces & Tourist Train We booked tickets through this agency for Tuesday 30 December 2025: five adults and three children (all under 12). The total cost came to a staggering £574.90 — for tickets with a face value of just €22 per adult, with children admitted free of charge. That means the true cost should have been no more than €110 (approximately £92). We paid more than six times the official price. On arrival at the Alhambra, we discovered that no tickets had been arranged for the children. The result? Our entire party — five adults and three children — was denied entry. Every penny of that £574.90 was wasted. We are far from alone. A cursory search reveals scores of furious reviews across Trustpilot, TripAdvisor, and travel forums such as Rick Steves, all describing the same predatory pattern. Tourists report paying five, six, even nine times the official ticket price. Companies operating under names such as My Top Tour and Alhambra Entradas use the word "official" in bold lettering on their websites while burying disclaimers that they have no affiliation with the Alhambra in tiny print at the bottom. Reviewers describe tickets that never arrive, tickets that exclude the Nasrid Palaces without making this clear at the point of sale, customer service lines that go unanswered, and emails that are ignored. One reviewer on Trustpilot paid €250 for five tickets with a face value of €12 each. Another on TripAdvisor paid €78 for two tickets that should have cost €10.61 each. The complaints stretch back years, and yet nothing changes. The consistent thread running through all of these reviews — and ours — is that the Spanish authorities and the Alhambra organisation itself are complicit in this racket. The official ticketing system releases limited allocations that sell out months in advance, creating an artificial scarcity that third-party touts exploit ruthlessly. These resellers hoover up tickets and sell them on at grotesque mark-ups to families who have spent thousands on flights and accommodation and who have built their holidays around visiting one of Europe's most celebrated heritage sites. The authorities know this is happening. They have known for years. They do nothing. It is, frankly, a disgrace — not just to Granada but to Spain's reputation as a tourist destination. Let me be equally blunt about the agents themselves. They provide incomplete and misleading information and fail to ensure valid tickets are available,. This is not a service. It is a systematic, predatory fraud. If you have had a similar experience, there is something you can do. The European Commission operates the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for cross-border consumer complaints against EU-based traders. You can submit a complaint at: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. You may also wish to contact the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) in your home country, which provides free advice and assistance with cross-border disputes within the EU. The more complaints that are formally lodged, the harder it becomes for the authorities to look the other way. Do not let these operators profit from your misery in silence.

  We booked the ticket at very short notice. The staff on the phone was very helpful and nice. Then it started: first we did not find the specified meeting place for ticket receipt (none of the official persons knew this). We were quite amazed at that. I have to say that I walk relatively hard (therefore also the joy of the train) and this wandering in the terrain at fast pace was very stressful for me. So we missed our slot for entry. After a long back and forth via phone and WhatsApp, we wanted to cancel the whole thing. This was not possible and we received a new slot. Due to the delay we could no longer use the train and therefore we requested a partial refund in the amount of half the amount or at least of € 100,—. received a “generous” amount of € 20,00, with the note that they would have been very accommodating to us. The organizer blamed the errors on Viator and Viator on the organizer. The joy we had first about the tickets (we also accepted the price of € 362.40) gave way to quite a lot of anger and frustration. Since we travel relatively much and book excursions we also have some experience. There have never been any problems with competitors. For us it is clear that Viator cannot be recommended and you should not book on this platform.

  We booked the ticket at very short notice. The gentleman at the hotline was very helpful and it all felt good. But then: first we did not find the specified meeting place (nobody knew this). So we couldn't make our appointment. After consultation, we were given a new slot, but then did not have the opportunity to use the train due to time constraints. We received a generous discount of € 20,— after a complaint. That we are paying more for a short-term ticket and was aware, but with this amount we felt really fopped. I wouldn't recommend Viator to anyone.

  HORRIBL EXPERIENCE. It said booked online and when we got to granada, spain - the night before i get a message from the vendor that there were no tickets. He tells me that he will get it for later that afternoon. I keep texting him when the time comes and he says no tickets. I got refunded but a horrible experience and do not recommend!

  When booking you do not have tickets yet, those you receive the night before. Note: this gives entry tickets only, no guided tour. Insanely overpriced at eur 128 prr person, as regular price is only eur 22. That said, they were able to get us last minute tickets during holiday period, and even called us to make sure we understood our entry time for the Nasrid palace.

  We thought we had purchased tickets which the tour operator actually owned, but in reality the tour operator did not have any on hand and was just hoping they would become available on the day of our visit. They assured us throughout the day it was very likely more tickets would be released. They also offered us a full refund. We waited until 1530, but no more tickets were released. The operator did give us an immediate refund, but we were still very disappointed we did not get a tour of the Alhambra. If we had known the tickets were not in hand, we would have modified our itinerary.
