Pyramids of Giza
The Giza pyramid complex is an archaeological site on the Giza Plateau, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. It includes the three Great Pyramids (Khufu/Cheops, Khafre/Chephren and Menkaure/Mykerinos), the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers' village and an industrial complex. It is located in the Western Desert, approximately 9 km (5 mi) west of the Nile river at the old town of Giza, and about 13 km (8 mi) southwest of Cairo city center. The pyramids, which have historically been common as emblems of ancient Egypt in the Western imagination,[1][2] were popularised in Hellenistic times, when the Great Pyramid was listed by Antipater of Sidon as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is by far the oldest of the ancient Wonders and the only one still in existence.
Great Sphinx
The Great Sphinx of Giza, commonly referred to as the Sphinx of Giza or just the Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Facing directly from West to East, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt

Great time with Ali and Wonders of Egypt Tours. Ali is a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, timely, great with kids, and an essential guide in this Land of Wonders. All costs were covered as part of the tour except for drinks at lunch. We had plenty of time at each site to explore, ask our questions, and climb into the pyramids. I would recommend Ali for any size group - it's clear that he is passionate about Egypt's history!

Not exactly this tour because ours included Sakkara, but we'd thoroughly recommend our guide (Leila) and our driver (Mohammad). The former was knowledgeable but was keen to ask what we knew. The latter was the most careful driver of our time in Egypt and very attentive to our needs. We felt safe at all times and were glad of the early start, it meant there was no queuing at Sakkara.

First things first! Ali is The Tour Guide!! We also had the best driver in Egypt that we’ve had thus far - his name is Ahmed - that’s saying something too. If you have ever been here, you know these folks can drive!! The Tour: It started promptly. Ahmed was at the ready in front of our hotel before the given time. Off to Giza, Sakkara, and Memphis - we were with a stop at an amazing papyrus store along the way. This has been what seemed like an unobtainable dream of mine since I was a small child. This whole country seemed so foreign, so far far far away. When I saw the Pyramids of Giza for the first time, a huge smile erupted from my face. It’s happened once before in this fashion - so that shows how rare that is! Ali helped bring this dream to fruition. His in-depth knowledge was great. Plus, he knew all the right spots for the best pictures. We had time to stop for a lovely quick lunch and plenty of cold drinks along the way too. Do yourself the favor go and see these treasures of the ancient world - and if you do - use Ali.
