This was such a great few hours. A must do if you enjoy seeing an authentic side to the places you visit. Aritson was a great tour guide and we had a fantastic time, learning about the farming, feeding and milking the goats and trying the cheese made from the milk.

very good experiences and discover rural life in Boa Vista, do not hesitate; you will be received like kings. Starting from pria de chaves the road to get to the site made us discover the landscapes of the north of the island. In addition, the tastings are excellent.

A fun and informative day that gave us a true insight into how the local people of the island of Boa Vista live. Aritson contacted us the night before to confirm pick up arrangements and we were collected promptly from the hotel. A short drive through the rural villages to be greeted but a rousing drum reception where we were introduced to some of the family. Pretty soon we were getting stuck in ourselves, drumming, feeding and milking the animals and learning about the local way of farming life such as charcoal making from our knowledgeable guide. A late 'breakfast' of local fare under a shady tree, then back to see the goat's milk we had collected be made into award-winning cheese... then a chance to relax and try some along with the home made liqueur before heading back to the hotel. Aritson also kindly sent through a selection of photos and videos as a memory of our lovely day. Tips: 1. Be prepared to get involved - this is your chance to try things it is unlikely you will have never done before! 2: This is a working farm that utilises traditional and sustainable methods, wear sensible clothes and be mindful you will be with animals and on arable terrain 3. There are various opportunities to wash your hands, however if you are very particular, you may want to take a small bottle of hand gel with you

An absolutely unique experience on this island. Firstly the journey goes from desert to trees and farmland with some beautiful villages. On arrival some fun banging out of rhythm on drums, the teacher is excellent. Then on the farm, pigs walking in woods, milking and feeding goats, chickens. Then some traditional food, locally grown watermelon, meeting the family and finally watching cheese being made from the goats we milked. I promise if you go on this trip you will remember it for the rest of your life as an amazing experience.

A must do! It's so special to realy feel the life in the countryside. With such a warm welcome from Aritson and his family to their home. Learn to make music and typical Cabrer food. Feed and meet the many animals. My highlight was milking the goats, and then tasting the goat cheese with a local liqueur. Of course I bought some (for a fair price), even the cheese from 'our own milk'! Aritson tells you all about life on the farm and the village, in good English, with plenty of time and personal attention in a small group. Definitely a wonderfull surprising day!

A must……… Amazing cultural day, seeing village life from drum practice to milking goats trying local food meeting the people ending in making cheese. The surrounding countryside so much greener then the tourist side. Great guide and beats quad biking!

Wonderful experience. Be welcomed at the sound of a good batucada, be able to try a goat, taste a cachupa in a wonderful place near centuries-old trees. Finally taste the grogue and see the goat cheese making. Finish with a good dance! Superb!
