Altun Ha

Climb stone steps to the top of the Temple of the Masonry Altars - where inside the of a Maya priest a solid jade carving of the Sun God, Kinich Ahau was discovered! Royal priests ruled Altun Ha, trading with other Mayan centers in Mesoamerica region.

Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve

Enjoy a 30min jungle walk which starts with a river crossing. Make your way along the jungle path following the river upstream. Arrive at the starting point - enter your tubes and cast off to start your journey through the cave systems. You will enter & exit through 5 different caves systems with the home stretch along the jungle-lined river ending where you first crossed the river.

First of all, let me just say this company was very professional working with me despite the issue that I had. I was booked on the tour prior to this one that got canceled. My day was ruined and my disappointment was an immeasurable. Not wanting to give up, I went on TripAdvisor and found the same tour with this company. However, after a phone call, I found out that the tour that I book wasn’t available that day. The manager, however, offered me two other tours instead. I chose this one because it was very similar to my original tour, just a different ruin to explore. he even gave me a refund partially because this one was a little bit different than the original. Now until the tour itself. Our tour guy was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. The day was full of offense. They were very memorable. Everyone in my group, including myself, had a blast. And his added bonus we had time to see a few additional things on our way to our destinations, of course I cannot recommend this tour enough 10 out of 10, we recommend.

Elvin was our guide and he was fantastic! He took care of everything throughout the day. Altun-ha was amazing, ziplining was fun, and the cave tubing was relaxing. Upclose took care of everything from booking tours to details throughout the tours. We also did the ATM cave with Norman as our transportation guide and Rose as our cave guide. Both were great to work with. We had one hiccup in water taxi transfers and Vivienne took care of it immediately. When we come back to Belize I will book tours through Upclose again. I highly recommend them.

We had Alvin and he was awesome. He had a lot of information to offer and kept us on a tight schedule so we made our ferry on time. He was also a great driver! Our lunch was great. The adventures were fun and safe, and there were no hidden expenses. We had a great time, highly recommend.

Correspondence was always timely and expectations were clear from Tripadvisor as well as our local tour company. Our tour guide Elvin was very knowledgeable and professional. I would definitely tour with UpClose Belize again.

Had a wonderful time on this tour! It is a full day. The temples at Altun Ha were amazing. You can climb some of the structures and the view from the top is beautiful. Lunch with local Belizian food, then zip lining through the jungle tops. Be prepared to climb a bit here to the top and steep at times but there are steps in the mountainside. Once down the zipline we took a nice walk through the trees to the river caves. Floating on the calm river through the caves was such an experience! So beautiful and relaxing. Our guide Alvin was the best! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Alvin would point out points of interest and provided education and information at each site. Even had a great playlist for the ride back to the ferry terminal end of day!

Our tour guide Elvin T made this a spectacular day. His knowledge of the history of Belize, the Mayan ruins and the caves was out of this world. If you have the opportunity to go make sure you request Elvin. You won’t be disappointed.

My family had a wonderful vacation in Belize City, largely because of the exceptional service of Angie and Kim at UpClose Belize. We booked two full days of tours including: a private driving tour of Belize City, Altun Ha Temple, Zip Line, Cave Tubing, Horseback Riding, the Inland Blue Hole, and an ATV tour through a fruit farm! Each of our tours was outstanding and our tour guides were fantastic. Beyond all the tour-related stuff, Angie was also generous with answers to our questions about where to visit in town and how best to get around, etc. Our all-day tour guide, Elvin, was outstanding - personable and professional! He made sure our needs were met and that we were comfortable throughout, all while sharing tons of great information about the area and people. Our in-city guide, Murray, was also a huge help. In addition to our scheduled tours, he was frequently available to provide our family rides to different spots around town - shopping, restaurants, some GREAT local ice cream, and the water taxi. He was also very personable, sharing a lot about the city and its history. Overall UpClose Belize and its people made our family vacation one of the most memorable and enjoyable we've ever had, and I cannot recommend them more highly. Thank you again, UpClose Belize for memories we'll cherish for a lifetime.

Amazing tour and awesome sights to see! We were in a time crunch since we were on a cruise and only in town for the day, but Elvin made our time count and we saw so much in our time there. Elvin is by far the best tour guide we have ever had and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. While we couldn’t make it to Altun Ha Temple because of how late our ship got in, we still felt like we experienced so much through the cave tubing and ziplining in the jungle. UpClose Belize was an easy, accommodating, and amazing company to work with and we plan to use them again in the future because after one day there, we know we want to go back to visit for even longer!

Elvin was amazing! He is passionate about his country and it shows. Yes it’s a long day but well worth it. We took the first ferry out of San Pedro to Belize City and Elvin took it from there. He kept us on schedule and got us back just in time for the final ferry back. 💯 recommend.
