Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
After having picked you up from your hotel we will drive for about one hour west from Manaus by car to reach the region called cachoeira do castanho. where we embark our motorized canoe (very simple canoe that we amazonian people use every day to go to work etc.) we will reach the jungle where we start a 2 and a half hour hiking, where our guide will show you many medicinal plants, teach you how we provide our shelters and many other possible things we may see along the way. P.S: We can't promise that you'll see any animal because it's nature and they are free in the wild. But we can assure you that they are there and eventually with luck we can spot them. For this part you must wear closed shoes and long pants, any type of shirts are okay. Also note that during our rainy season (October to July) there are many mosquitoes, and the terrain is muddy because of the rain.
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
After a jungle hike we will head to our floating house where we will have lunch that can include fish or chicken, rice, beans, spaghetti and manioc flowers. Please note that we can't provide special meals like vegetarian option. If rice, beans and spaghetti are enough for vegetarians then we'll be fine for lunch. After lunch you can relax and enjoy the view and even go for a swim if you want to refresh before we go to the next part of our tour.
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
After lunch we take our canoe again and will head to a platform where researchers work on the pink river dolphins, These amazing creatures capture our attention for many centuries now. They are so docile and friendly and can reach almost 3 meters long and weight up to 2 hundred kilos. In this platform you will be able to come very close to these incredible water mammals and take some nice pictures. In this place you also will have a chance to enter the water. So we recommend to bring your swimming suits and also your towels to dry after you get out from the water. Eventually you may have a chance to buy some beers of coconut juice. So its also advisable to bring some cash with you.
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
Now we will go for a canoeing through the region and see the beauties of the Negro river side. During our flood season (march to August) we have the phenomenon of the flooded forest, which we call here "Igapó". It's limply amazing to navigate among the trees and be marveled by such a Wonderfull landscape.
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
Once we find an ideal spot we will stop for piranha fishing. It's not so hard but we can't say it's the easiest thing to catch a piranha. These creatures are by far the most dangerous fishes with razor sharp teeth can can take a finger off with just one byte (it's a wise idea to let our guides remove them from the hook) If we catch one big enough we can even bring it to prepare for dinner (trust me, they are really tasty)
Acutuba Beach
We will paddle to the middle of the river and wonder the most incredible sunset and take lots of pictures for your memories (don't forget to tag us on instagram)
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
Once the sun is down and the night falls we will go on a search for the night creatures that are hidden everywhere. With some luck we can spot a cayman and get very close to it so we can make videos and take nice pictures.
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
Once we finish all the activities we will go back to our guest house for having dinner and overnight. It's a simple place opened with beds with mosquito nets. The toilet is private but it's all very simple. The idea is to bring you closer to the nature and see how most of our amazonian people live. If you are the type that enjoy the comfort of a hotel I Recommend you to book only our 12 hours jungle experience and return to your hotel in Manaus. Please note that this vey tour is also divided into two day tours starting and returning to your hotel in Manaus. Then for the next day you can book our river day tour. This way you won't miss almost anything (Only the overnight and the sunrise the next morning).
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Simple breakfast with coffee, milk, some bread, butter etc. Please don't expect any luxury.
LUNCH
Lunch
The lunch is at a floating restaurant with a big variety of food including vegetarian options.
Balneario Cachoeira do Castanho
Our second day starts very early (around 5:30 am) and we leave for a ride while it's still dark to see the sunrise and the nature waking up. Since Amazon is located very close to the equator line, it's right at the change from night to day and day to night the the nature is more active. So the chances to see birds and other creatures is bigger and just the sunrise is a show by itself. Please note that during the rainy season it's common to start the day with rain, so we may not be able to do this activity.
Comunidade Indigena CIPIA
For this second day we will have to cover a longer distance so we will use a faster speedboat. We will visit an indigenous village to learn about their culture and history, also see the performance of their tradicional rituals. They have moved from the border of Colombia and now live closer to Manaus but still keep their culture and everyone speaks their own dialect. If you want to buy souvenirs you will have a chance here (cash only and small bills)
Praia do Tupe
During part of our dry season (august to September) and part of our flood season (January to June) we can visit one of the most beautiful beaches in our region where you can swim, take pictures and have fun on our warm waters and white sand.
Parque Ecologico Janauary
During the flood season and part of dry season (January to September) We will visit this ecological park where we have lunch at a floating restaurant with a good variety of food (including vegetarian options) also have a walk through the flooded forest to see the water lilies on a lake that's located at the end of a suspended walkway almost by the canopy of the trees. When there’s not enough waters to enter the Janauary ecological park we have lunch at another floating restaurant along the negro river side, the food has the same quality, but there’s no water lilies.
Comunidade do Catalao Amazonas
During the flood season and part of dry season (January to September) We navigate through the Amazon river side until we reach a floating village located in the middle of a lake called Lago do Catalão with over a hundred families living in houses built on huge logs of threes that float, besides school, church, shops, restaurant etc. forming an unique way of life.
Comunidade do Catalao Amazonas
At this lake there's a fish farm with the River monsters called Pirarucu (Arapaima gigas), simply the biggest species of fish with scales in fresh water in the word. We will have some rods with no hooks but just some bait attached to it so we can feed them and at the same time feel their power.
Meeting of Waters
Last but not least We will visit one of the most impressive phenomenons consider one of the seven wonders of the nature when two rivers, one brown and one black running side by side without mixing due to difference in density, velocity, temperature and acidity.
Port of Manaus
Now it's time to return to Manaus by seen the whole border of it starting with the industrial park where there's more than 400 factories assembling products like samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Honda motors, Harley Davidson etc. We'll see the biggest private floating port in south America, the fish port, the main port with hundreds of boats that we use for navigating from Manaus to everywhere in the north of Brazil, if you pay close attention you'll see the dome of the Amazonas Theater, the first beer factory and many other buildings from the rubber boom. Our estimated time to reach your hotel is around 5pm.

We had a wonderful tour with Fabio and Denis who were all incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Their expertise really enhanced the experience, making the trip both enjoyable and informative. Fabio not only led the tour in Amazon jungle, but also provided the homemade meals and the overnight stay accommodation. It was very impressive. It’s a great journey from start to finish, and we highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a memorable and well-guided adventure.

This two-day and one-night trip to the Amazon rainforest was truly an unforgettable experience, it was packed with activities and every moment felt full of surprises! The boar ride, close encounter with the pink dolphin and fishing for piranhas were all fun activities. Sunset was perfect. But the Amazon's weather was unpredictable. 5 minutes later, we experienced thunder, lightning, and heavy rain. Second day is on the Amazon reason. The floating village, culture experience were great. The only thing Is the 2-3 hour hiking was a bit too much for me. It was hot, humid and full of mosquitos. 30 min to an hour would be enough. Other than that, it was a great adventure.

Hands down one of the most enjoyable experiences. All the activities were amazing, though the long boat ride was probably my least favorite part. It was a truly magical two days.

Overall I had a great experience exploring the Amazon and the Rio Negra with very informative and attentive guides, ‘swimming’ with the pink dolphins was a highlight and we were fortunate enough to see a three toed sloth on our jungle hike. The accomodation was basic but comfortable and the food was great. I do think that there were areas where information was lacking, for instance it would have been good to be given a bit of a ‘lesson’ on the pink dolphins (I didn't even know they existed until this trip), the same goes for the fish farm on the second day ie. the kind of fish, what the farm does, where the fish go etc. we were basically just given rods with the fish attached, some safety instructions and let loose! It also would have been helpful if the driver who picked me up from my hotel explained a bit more about what was happening, I felt like I was being driven into the middle of nowhere, other passengers were dropped off randomly and I was continuing on, as a solo traveller, it would have been reassuring to know exactly what was happening.

Guides were good. However, there was a disconnect in pickup at the end of first day to take us to the lodge for the night and we had to wait for a long time when we were told max. 20 minutes wait. Jungle walk was not too exciting - no animals except one sloth and a tarantula. Maybe better location is needed.
