Amsterdam Canal Ring
Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, has more than one hundred kilometers of grachten (canals), about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings.[1] The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010,[2] contributing to Amsterdam's fame as the "Venice of the North"

Great wine and snacks! Was a great experience, would highly recommend. Was great to start the tour during the day and end in the evening so we could see the sights with the lights as well

Captain Jack Canal Cruise was highly recommended by our hotel Concierge and has lots of good reviews, rewards and accolades. We were disappointed. Captain Jack asked that you email your concerns if you were not offering a 5 star review. Our written comments were answered promptly. The return email explained the boat is 100 years old, and too small for movement onboard, one loaded. The boat has no sound system. If you can’t hear the guide/boatperson, the boat has to stop, disembark, and reembark passengers based on hearing acuity. This is not a premium tour, as we thought, but one “including drinks, snacks, and a longer cruise time than most others”. Maybe the most disappointing of all was the insider knowledge we received from the guide during the tour; almost none. What we heard about the city and what we viewed was no more than you would read in a magazine article about Amsterdam. We paid US $109.53, which is considerably more than lots of other advertised offerings. We expected a little more. Finally, be sure to use the restroom, before you board.

Eric was amazing! Very intimate smaller boat. Wine and cheese and beer. Eric went through the history and we got to know this amazing city seen through the eyes of a native

Reasonably ok boat was quite narrow with only just room to slide along sideways between the table and seats and if you are sitting at the stern there’s little chance of hearing all of the commentary because there’s no amplification so I would recommend getting on the boat after there’s about 10 or 12 people on before you this would also give you a better chance to access the food and drinks other than that hope the passengers near to you don’t mind passing things up, also if it’s raining or has been there’s little chance of seeing much out through the windows what with condensation and the rain on the outside plus at one stage the water that had gathered on the roof found a gap to pour onto some passengers so I would say it might be ok in good weather but other than that think I would pick a bigger boat

A gentle cruise with a knowledgeable and interesting Captain who explained the history of the canals and the birth of Amsterdam. We were also treated to an excellent supply of drinks and nibbles.

Wonderful experience! The boat trip was relaxing, fun, and perfectly organized. Great people on board, not too crowded, and Captain Teun made it all even better. Definitely recommend!

We (group of 4 adults) had a great time on this tour! There is plenty of wine and drinks while the captain gives a run-down of the city's history. The tour was 90 minutes and good mix of guided tour and chatting with other passengers. Its a small boat (25ish people) so we all introduced ourselves before the tour began which was nice. If you are hard of hearing, request to sit up front because there is no mircophone from the captain. Highly recommend this tour!
