Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most famous treks in Nepal. This route is flocked by trekkers of all age groups. The breathtaking Annapurna range has been a favorite for many trekkers throughout the years.

The 14-day trip starts at Pokhara and from there you drive to Nayapul to enter the Annapurna region. Pokhara is the lowest point on the trek at 870 meters and the highest point is the Annapurna Base Camp at 4,170 meters. Also, you will also need a permit to trek inside the Annapurna Conservation Area.

You don’t need technical skills to conquer this trek. Also, trekkers need not worry about Altitude Sickness. However, do carry medicines to tackle altitude sickness if it’s your first time climbing to high altitudes. There are many options like Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek and Mardi Himal Trek if you want to experience more of this region. Likewise, the best times for this trek are the spring and autumn seasons.

The ABC+Poon Hill Trekking was a wonderful experience. Prakash was a very knowledgeable guide. Everyday's plan was well briefed in advance. We were a group of 7. He made sure everyone in the group maintain a comfortable pace and adjusted plan to fit our needs. Bhagwat organized the entire trip and made it so smoothly. He was very responsive in communication and often worked late. Overall 5 of 5.

  • Thoroughly memorable trip!

I originally found this tour operator through the TravelZoo website and was curious about their Annapurna Base Camp package. A friend and I decided to try it despite our mutual age of 71. The package gets my whole-hearted five star rating for value, customer care, and richness of experience. Although my wife and I have been blessed with numerous wonderful travel experiences, this is the only trip I could call "a trip of a lifetime". The natural beauty of Nepal is so much richer than just giant snow-capped mountains. The trekker climbs through tropical rainforests of bamboo and blooming Rhododendron. And the cultural immersion! A wonderful, memorable trip! However, there's no luxury included. The package provides the necessities for trekking including a guide, lodging, and most meals. Food and lodging along the trail are unavoidably modest. Seasoned trekkers probably expect this, but my friend and I were both first-timers. And the trek is no stroll in the park -- it is quite extreme, at least for a couple of old guys. But I believe that most healthy, motivated adults could thoroughly enjoy it with proper preparation. Mr. Bhagwat Simkhada runs a highly reputable tour operation that earned my complete trust.

Hello Bhagwat. Jim and I would like to thank you very much for an excellent trek to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). The beautiful scenery speaks for itself, so I will speak for our guide, Badri Kakri and our tough porter, Perlad. These fine gentlemen provided excellent service which really allowed us to have the best experience possible. They were always cheerful, patient and considerate - especially when we needed frequent pauses to catch our breath and regain control over our frantically beating hearts. We think the loop through Ghorepani was instrumental in rebuilding leg muscles and improving cardio before our final trek to ABC. Badri was an excellent source of information about the area, it's geography, it's fauna and flora, and about Nepal and world subjects as well. We also really appreciated the ease of communication with you as we organized this trip. Your friendly good cheer gave us confidence in the arrangements, and the supper last night with traditional dancers was a wonderful cap to our trekking experience. Thank you, Himalayan Adventure Treks & Tours! Keith M and Jim S, Ottawa, CANADA, February 2025.

A fabulous tour! The manager Bhagwat is very attentive and responds quickly to emails with clear answers. The airport and hotel transfers are well organized. Through him we hired Parlad, an experienced porter to carry extra clothes and items. Given the many stone steps and the uphills nature of the trek you'll want to personally carry as little as possible. Our trek guide Badri is very experienced in trekking and was able to quickly accommodate changes to our nightly stops due to weather or tiredness (I'm over 70). He pointed out trees, orchids, plants and animal tracks including bear. He is patient and allowed us to set our pace. We made it to Annapurna Base Camp on a sunny morning through fresh snow. On my birthday he organized a surprise chocolate cake. On the last day of the trek he quickly organized a jeep to substitute for walking the final 15 km. This is my third trek to Annapurna Base Camp and my most memorable in a very large part due to this company. I'm recommending this company to my sons for their trek.

This was my second trek with Prakash & Himalayan adventure. First was Poonhill and this time Annapurna Base Camp, with 5 day itinerary, with only myself and Prakash. We started from Pokhara with a Jeep ride to Ghandruk. Prakash is very experienced (10+ years), very knowledgeable, professional and respectful. He was prepared and able to quickly find an alternative route around a landslide area, without significantly effecting the overall itinerary. Prakash made sure to check in with how I packed, what I brought and what I might need in order to be most prepared. He knows the maps and ways around this region extremely well. Accurate time and distance estimates and even converts units from/to metric as needed. Prakash knows the local agriculture, culture and language (in total he speaks English, Nepali, English and mandarin). He is even continuing to take professional courses to improve his knowledge and skill set in regards to trekking and medical information. Prakash was transparent about all the costs, preparation and adjustments to schedule as needed. I was able to make last minute changes to get a plane back to Kathmandu instead of bus. He is very friendly and reads the room well, he notices if you are not feeling well, having a hard time with the pace and asks if you are not feeling well. These qualities are extremely important, I am a doctor of physiotherapy and know how important it is to have a good understanding of people and their physical / mental function because if they need medical attention, you want someone to know as soon as possible. Prakash is the type of person you want guiding you. He has been all over this country and even does motor bike tours as well. Talk to him about any alternative itineraries you would want to consider. I would consider him a friend.

My wife and I came across Himalayan Adventure Treks and Tours on Travelzoo. The price was very reasonable for a trip of this magnitude! So glad we decided to use this tour company! We signed up to partake in the ABC trek in Nov 2024 (very good time of year for clear weather). Himalayan Adventures is a top notch tour company! Bhagwat is the owner, and he provides some of the best customer service I have had anywhere! I am not exaggerating. My wife and I have travelled extensively, but never made it to this region of the world. We really were coming in knowing nothing. I bombarded Bhagwat with questions for almost a year. He was always very help full and his communication was second to none! He answered questions about logistics, visas, what to expect in this trek, what equipment is recommended, if we didnt have time for a 13 day trek he offered a 9 day modification, etc! Not only did he answer these questions, but I swear he would answer within a hour over Whatsapp, even if it was the middle of the night for him!!! His customer service (and all his employees) were incredible! Upon arrival, Himalayan Adventures had their driver already waiting for us as we went through customs and immigrations. When we arrived at the hotel 4 days earlier than our trek in Kathmandu, Bhagwat was waiting for us for a very warm welcome to Nepal. As he checked us in to the hotel, he gave us many recommendations to explore and to eat. Bhagwat signed us up for a flight to see Mt Everest and an all day excursion to see a bunch of World Heritage sites. Some of the temples included Swayambhunath Temple (the monkey temple!), Bhaktapur Durbar Square (we got to see the living goddess!), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. For the temple excursion, our guide Kapil was amazing! He was so friendly and knowledgeable. When we were eating lunch, it felt like we were sitting with family. Kapil was an amazing guide!! As we got closer to the day of our trek, Bhagwat recommended we take a 45 min flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead of a 11 hour drive on a horrible road full of construction. I cannot agree with Bhagwat more, take the flight its worth it! Plus, you will have way more time to explore the beautiful lake town of Pokhara! The trek overall is amazing! Himalayan Adventures has a break down of the trek itinerary, so I won't get too much into here. The trek is labeled beginner to advanced. I will say, as a beginner myself, this is the hardest trek I have ever done. I'd say it's more intermediate to advanced, but a beginner can do it but it will be grueling (but very rewarding). You will hike 5-6 miles one day, sometimes 10. it totaled 80 miles in about 10 days! That includes thousands of steps up and down, some over a foot tall up steep inclines and declines. That being said, the views are insanely beautiful. Our guide, Prakash, was everything we could have hoped for in a guide. Prakash was extremely knowledge, personable, and patient. Everyday, he would give us a detailed breakdown of what to expect and what to expect the next day. Being the slowest in the group, I usually fell behind the others by about 30min. Prakash and his porters would pace with me. Sometimes, when I was extremely tired, Prakash was so good at keeping me motivated and encouraged. Sukman, one of the porters really stood out. He was so positive and patient as well! We called him Superman because he did everything from carry our duffel bags up the mountain, but he waited on us while we ate, and many other things. Amazing customer service by Prakash, Sukman, and the other porters. We were well taken cared of!!!!! If you do this trek, you cannot go wrong wrong with Prakash leading your trek!!!! 5 stars! This trek is the hardest, but most rewarding thing I have ever done. My wife and I miss Prakash, the porters, and our new friends we met from our trekking group!! it was all made possible by Himalayan Adventure Treks and Tours! This is the company to use for your trek! Our whole group have nothing but 5 star accolades to give them!!!!! This trip will change your life!
