Betty's Hope
Start your tour with at 15 minute ride through the East side of the island to Betty's Hope Sugarmill Plantation. Betty's Hope is one of Antigua’s most historic sugar plantations and a powerful symbol of the island’s colonial past. Established in the 17th century, it was once a major producer of sugar and rum. Today, visitors can explore the restored twin windmill towers, museum exhibits, and scenic grounds while learning about the plantation’s history, the sugar-making process, and the lives of the enslaved Africans who labored there.
Devil's Bridge
View the natives farm land areas as well as the famous Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium as we take a 30 minute ride to the East Coast part of the island. Arrive at Devil's Bridge where our expert guide will lead you down the rocky craters to where the Atlantic waves crash dramatically against the shore. Here, you'll be immersed in rich historical tales and enthralled by enchanting local folklore.

Carrick was our guide and he was like an old family friend from the beginning. He is very knowledgeable about the area. He pointed out so many interesting bits of info and made impromptu stops to show us things. I would highly recommend this tour. Carrick made it fun and interesting at the same time!

This was a great tour of historical southern Antigua that was greatly enhanced by our guide’s local knowledge. I learned a lot! Drinks (water, sodas) were provided.

The meeting point was a bit difficult to locate. The locals gave us conflicting information on how to arrive at the meeting point. Thankfully we had an ample amount of time to find it. When we finally found our tour guide Steve, we vented our frustration to him and he easily calmed us down with a greeting "Welcome". He offered us a cold bottle of water and promised us an adventure. He apologized in advance for the bumpy and unpaved roads. Steve made us feel like family. He gave us a wealth of information about the island including how to accurately pronounce Antigua. He has positive relationships with staff members at each stop. The most memorable staff member was Elijah at Nelson's Dockyard. Elijah has a great personality and is also a wealth of knowledge. Loved him! Steve offered to take photos of us at the different stops. We never felt rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on this excursion despite how it started. I took a picture with Steve before going back to the ship. This was indeed a memorable experience. I strongly recommend this tour for anyone that is seeking a personalized tour experience.

Peaches was our tour guide and gave us a very informative and interesting tour of Antigua. She took us to the local points of interest including Nelson’s Dockyard and Betty’s Hope and also talked about the local culture, food and plant life. We would recommend this tour and thank Peaches for her enthusiasm and knowledge.

This was a private tour. When visiting other countries, my husband & I want to know the history and how "the locals" live. Except for a souvenir magnet, we aren't into tourist shopping. Our guide, Trevor, was amazing! He designed a personalized tour of Antigua and was very flexible if we wanted to add or decline visiting certain locations. Trevor's humor and pleasant personality made the tour quite enjoyable as he shared detailed information about all the places we visited. I suffer from severe spinal arthritis but the airconditioned SUV was extremely comfortable. Lunch was not included but at the end of the tour, Trevor was kind enough to drop us off at "Alligators"; a fantastic restaurant which served authentic traditional local food. The sautéed conch with coleslaw and steamed squash with sweet potatoes was to die for! I would highly recommend "Antigua Explorer Tour". Be sure to ask for Trevor.
