When traveling through Vietnam, you will see women wearing ao dai everywhere. In Vietnamese, ‘áo dài’ means ‘long shirt’. It is the national costume of Vietnam, symbolizing beauty and elegance.Though the modern ao dai has many versions, such as those with shorter panels and different collar shapes (round, V or open), the typical female ao dai is a tight-fitting long silk dress with long sleeves that is worn over long pants. It gives the wearer a simple yet flattering profile while still showing the curves of the body.

St. Joseph's Cathedral
St Joseph’s Cathedral, or “The Big Church” familiarly called by the locals, is one of the first structures constructed by French colonists during their expansion in Indochina and still intact in Hanoi after two fierce wars. In spite of fierce fights destroying almost parts of Hanoi, St Joseph’s Cathedral is still in good condition. Today, it becomes a historical attraction in Hanoi which remains the image of the beauty of the old Hanoi and makes an impression on travelers by its ancient beauty inside the bustling capital.
Temple of Literature & National University
If you are traveling to Hanoi, the ancient capital of Vietnam, besides the number of motorbikes on the road, you are also impressed by how busy and crowded this city seems to be. Hanoi also boasts an endless amount of grandeur, history, and magical tales that can enchant even almost any traveler. Entangled with hidden attractions of serenity and peace, this city possesses a treasure with historical imprints, which was considered the first national university – Temple of Literature.

The tour was amazing! I booked for me and my boyfriend the Hanoi City tour motorbike with Ao Dai Rental. It was fantastic, both tour guide, bob and Aaron were very helpful and insightful. Recommended a lot of good places to shop, eat and visit. They were also good at taking pictures.

I had very little time in Hanoi but one of the things I wanted to do was get pictures in a traditional dress. I could not have chosen a better tour operator than Harley. I felt really awkward trying the dresses on but she was so supportive and found just the exact dress I would have chosen myself. I had to communicate with her several times over changes in plans and she was always prompt and flexible to make things work out. Highly recommend!!!

Lana was really friendly and helpful with recommended places for photos and gave short/insightful stories of each place as well. She is a warm person who is delighted to share things she know and is patient/ flexible. She also takes really good photos - I enjoyed this activity with her around! :) Thanks for the good memories!
