What To Expect
Overview Experience swimming with two of the four Sea Turtles species native to the Cook Islands. We take you into their natural marine environment, close enough to touch but our sustainable tourism policies mean we only allow touching with your eyes. Their home is not just home to Sea Turtles, we may encounter Eagle Rays, Moray Eels, Trevally, and the hundreds of species of tropical fish. You'll learn about our coral reefs, the habitat and what we are doing to protect this resource for future generations. As the Eco-Adventure Tourism Award Winner in 2020, you can trust that our tours are eco-friendly and that your safety is our number one priority. Every client gets to use our unique eco-friendly sea scooters to pull you through the water and assist you during your tour. 5.00Absolutely brilliant experience! Amazing attentive staff who make you feel safe. I cant speak highly enough of Ariki Tours. Sea scooters are the way to go, easy to use and if you are unfit like me you feel exhilarated at the conclusion, not exhausted. Highly recommend 👌

5.00We all really enjoyed our sea scooter turtle experience. We were a large family group (14 years to 70 years) but we were well looked after by each of the guides. They are friendly and professional and kept checking on all of us to make sure each of us had a great time. Highly recommend

5.00The staff gave us very clear instructions on what we had to do and how and the team were very friendly and new us by name. There were 3 to our 7 to keep us safe in the water and also for turtle spotting. It was a great afternoon

1.00The tour guide a lady was extremely rude a aggressive to so other people using the channel. Told them to go back to there country. Even though they said they were from Rarotonga. And she continued to taunt them and mutter under her breath. It made the whole experience awful 😞

5.00We did the turtle tour with the motorised scooters. Upon arrival all snorkelling gear is provided. Excellent snorkelling location, we got to see quite a few turtles. The guides took quite a few photos of us with turtles. Just make sure you've got GoProQuik on your phone before the day to get you experience mementos. Just one note: we had booked an 8:30am tour but was moved to 7am due to strong swell warnings. Only advise is when there's a strong swell the scooter struggles. If possible, reschedule.

5.00The Ariki Sea Scooter Turtle Experience was honestly unreal. Easily one of the coolest things I’ve done in Raro. The crew were super chill, funny, and made everyone feel safe and sorted before we even got in the water. The sea scooters are such a vibe — you barely have to do anything, you just glide around like some kind of underwater superhero. And the turtles… wow. We saw heaps of them cruising around, plus rays and a bunch of colourful fish. It didn’t feel rushed or touristy at all, just really natural and respectful of the wildlife. The guides were onto it the whole time, checking in, keeping everyone together, and pointing out cool things we would’ve missed. And the photos they took? Actually so good. Way better than anything I could’ve captured myself. If you’re coming to Raro, this is a must‑do. Worth every cent and then some. I’d go again tomorrow.
