5.00Maelle provides an alternative tour to most experiences in Athens. You will understand and appreciate the struggles that have affected the population in Athens today, and by the end of the tour you will just want to be able to support the local businesses and avoid the tourist traps! Athens’ more recent history is just as fascinating as its ancient history and Maelle helps to bring that more recent history alive with where she takes you on the tour. I would very highly recommend Culture Hunters to anyone interested in history and social problems.

5.00It was my 2nd tour with Culture Hunters and Maëlle, this time I dived into the history of the Athenian Resistance with their guide and narrative and into different places and eras. It's good to keep expanding your view of history, far from typical, shallow tourist attractions. It is an art in itself to guide tourists through the city in such a way that you do not feel like an 08/15 tourist, but really smoke. Maëlle has mastered this art effortlessly and it is simply fun to listen to her stories and to bring a piece of history to life in the head cinema through her words... Looking forward to more tours:)

5.00We booked the tour as our first activity in Athens, rather by chance and were very happy in hindsight. There were no other people booked that day (and the groups seem to be small anyway), so it was a private tour that gave us an excellent introduction to Greek history and the city. The guide was really knowledgeable, took her time and was very passionate about her topic.
