A must for Marrakech visitors, this morning tour takes you soaring over the foothills of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains on a hot air balloon ride. Touch down for a freshly prepared Berber breakfast followed by a camel ride through the palm-scattered desert, and then return back to Marrakech. A flight certificate is included as a souvenir of your experience.

What To Expect

Start your experience with an early morning pickup by 4x4 vehicle from your Marrakech hotel and travel to the launch spot for your sunrise hot air balloon ride. Enjoy refreshments including pastries, coffee and tea as you watch your expert crew inflate the hot air balloon. Then, step into the basket and take to the skies! Each basket holds a maximum of 16 people and there’s plenty of room for you to sightsee comfortably as you soar up and away. Soak up the serene desert landscape as your pilot takes you over the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains on a 40-50 minute flight (depending on wind and weather conditions). After touching down at the base camp, head inside a tent with a view of the mountains to enjoy a freshly prepared Berber breakfast, including pancakes, corn bread, fruit, olives and mint tea. Follow your breakfast with a guided camel ride through the Palmeraie desert village surrounding the camp. Before leaving, you’ll be presented with a flight certificate to commemorate your Marrakech hot air balloon experience. Then, travel by 4x4 vehicle back to your hotel in the late morning, allowing you to enjoy the rest of the day in Marrakech.

    Great experience our pilot was amazing. Breakfast was lovely however I would skip the camel ride. They seem miserable and it wasn’t enjoyable.

    From beginning to end this was an amazing trip. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the desert. All the balloons are being prepared whilst you have tea, coffee and croissants. What is noticeable is that the crew and staff genuinely take pride in the works. The toilets at the site are exceptional. This was an amazing trip and 5 stars really isn’t enough. Wonderful. Thank you.

    The hot air ballon & refreshments were great, a very memorable experience. Our ballon captain, Reda, was funny & knowledgeable. I could have done without the camel ride and maybe opted for the ATV experience instead. The camels didn’t seem the happiest & I felt kind of bad. Besides that, it was a great day.

    Great communication both before and during the flight. Fantastic experience. We had an early collection from our hotel and were transported directly to the Berber site for a quick coffee and pastry. Then whisked off to watch our hot air balloons inflate. After a quick overview, we were told very quickly to jump into the basket and lie down (!) (The basket was still on its side, so we only had a small window to all jump in.... the basket holds approx 15/16 people) Once we were all in, it was time to get airborne. Our pilot was very friendly and informative and he explained everything as we went, as well as a quick safety tutorial/practice for landing!! I loved being in the balloon and thought it was very peaceful with a gorgeous view across the Atlas Mountains at sunrise!!! Once we had finished our balloon ride and landed with minimal fuss, it was time to head in for a Berber Breakfast (Lots of breads, biscuits, olives and pastries) and tea. The staff were very friendly, taking photos and refilling glasses as they went (I can recommend the coconut biscuits). Then, we were off for the camel ride!! We had a fantastic day out, loved the traditional robes we were dressed in, and the camels were tethered to each other, so any worries of veering off course were dissipated immediately. Was amazed to get back to our hotel with plenty of time left to relax by the pool!!!
