2 days that we will certainly never forget! Our tour to the Kayan, Kayah and Kayaw tribes people was perfectly organized and highly professionally lead by Mr. Martino, who is also a member of the Kayan tribe. With a lot of sensitivity and empathy he mediated between us and the locals so that natural encounters were created. Mr. Martino knew the answer to all our questions - and there were many - so that we returned from the tour with a huge treasure of knowledge. Surely one of our greatest and most valuable experiences in Myanmar!

We were a group of five friends visiting Loikaw in January. We were really pleased to have discovered Amazing Kayah Travel [AKT]. Zune Zune from AKT arranged a whole day tour for us to visit Pan Pet & Hta Nee La Leh villages. The added bonus for us was that it was a Saturday, so we were also able to visit the Demowso market on the way. Maungko, our guide, picked us up from the hotel at 8 a.m. and spent the whole day with us. He was very charming, lively and knowledgeable and we felt very fortunate to have him as a guide. The visit took us to local communities to visit people's homes. All the people we met were very welcoming and we felt very moved and privileged to be permitted such an intimate encounter with people's lives. This was a truly memorable day for all of us. We would wholeheartedly recommend AKT to anyone else planning to visit Loikaw & the Kayah region.

Our tour was perfectly arranged, we had the chance to meet kayan and kayah tribes and to discover about their life, their traditions and villages. We also enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch in hta neh la leeh! Martino, our English speaking guide, was great and he also made a stop at ngwe taung dam at sunset. Note: This is one of the few authorized travel agencies to offer real CBT (community based tourism) experiences in these villages.

Great experience! We did two tours with Amazing Kayah. Both were led by Maungko and were run extremely well. On the first tour we visited a Kayan village and then a Kayah village. This was really special as during each visit we were able to sit down with different villagers and have a genuine conversation. It's clear that the villagers don't meet a lot of tourists and they were just as interested to learn about us as we were to learn about them. We were also really greatful for how open and honest Maungko was about the various locations we visited: if it was highly touristic he would let us know. The second tour was much farther away and we visited a Kayaw village and also hiked to the summit of Kaw Ta Maw mountain, another amazing experience. Be warned wear proper hiking attire, there are leaches, slick rocks, and steep inclines on trail. We struggled a little at the beginning, but our local guide Ta So Ee, quickly fashioned us two walking sticks and the trail was much more manageable after that. All in all an unforgettable experience would love to do it again!
