This cooking class was amazing. We prepared all the food ourselves and it was delicious. You get a very authentic cooking experience, cooking in a kitchen, preparing everything from scratch, and then plating it. The host and translator were very sweet and welcoming. The host explained each step of the process with us. I cooked the jollof rice with chicken. It was SO delicious, the seasonings, the flavors, it was one of the best meals that I had while in Senegal. This cooking class is a must do when visiting Senegal! 10/10, I would recommend.

Great small group experience to learn about this traditional dish that is debated by many countries. Every step was explained well and was easy to follow regardless of your cooking experience. You do make a large portion per person, so come with an appetite and take the leftovers to share with others. Booking was simple and follow up communication was helpful.

Such a great experience! We had two people who helped us to prepare and cook thiboudienne. I traveled solo but they fit me in with a group of four. I had a wonderful time and the food was fantastic! Abi was our translator and helped us to prepare the food and she was excellent.

This was an amazing experience. If you don’t speak French there is a French to English Translator but it is still nice to learn the language. The food is absolutely delicious. I took my mom and she loved it haha. I would encourage everyone to sign up for this class to learn how to make the Senegalese national dish. This is a must!!❤️❤️

I am so happy my first ever experience with jollof was with this class. It really made me appreciate what a labor of love it is, and what really made the class special was how passionate and full of life both the cook and the translator were. I loved how there was an authentic vegan option for me. The portion they have you cook is HUGE. Definitely enough for a few leftovers. They also give you a history of the dish and a written recipe, allowing you to really immerse yourself in Senegalese culture. I would consider this a must-do if you are in Dakar!

My mom and I took this cooking class and really enjoyed it. We don’t speak French, nor Wolof so the coordinator arranged for an onsite translator/assistant. We went step by step from washing the veggies, seasoning the protein of choice and properly cooking everything. Our jollof rice came out very tasty and even had leftovers. I will say, jollof making is a process and so the class was about 4 hours long but the results are worth it. 10/10 recommend

This was an excellent detailed experience! This was my first time in Dakar and I have never made nor tasted Jollof rice. This was the perfect intro into Senegalese culture. The instructions were easy to follow and our teachers were excellent. They even surprised my partner for his birthday with balloons and a small cake as well as treats for the class. Wonderful wonderful experience and I would book again!
