Funan, Chenla, Khmer... Nations felt and mountains crumbled, the legacy of cuisine has passed down through generations. In Siem Reap's Old Town, Le Tigre de Papier's award-winning Khmer cuisine cooking class delves into the secrets of Cambodian spices such as galangal, sweet basil, and finger root… which sound magical, smell dreamy, and taste exhilarating. A starter/green mango salad, a main dish/beef loclac, and a dessert/fried banana with passion fruit sauce. Taught in English, by a professional and beautiful lady chef - Channy, who carefully selected ingredients, imparted knowledge and answered questions. In 3 hours, every inner culinary talent was unlocked and a master chef shaped. My cooking class started at 10:00 AM, March 3. Unfortunately up to now, I have received neither a certificate nor a recipe. If you are looking at my rating of experience, DO REMEMBER email to: owen_ruan@… Channy has it

We did the cooking class and then ate our food in the restaurant. It was fantastic! We were warmly welcomed by the chef Sopheap and selected the dishes for the 3-course menu. It first went through the fresh market (without shopping) to get to know the local products. We then started the preparation. All ingredients were already fresh and cleanly prepared by the kitchen team. Sopheap prepared everything step by step with us with a lot of joy and energy. It was very delicious! The restaurant is also recommended, in PaperTiger everything is really freshly cooked.

Me and my partner booked the 5 pm cooking class, and we can highly recommend it. First, we went to the local market nearby and Sopheap showed us all the fresh fruit and vegetables we will use for cooking later. Afterwards we startet preparing and cooking. It was so much fun, Sopheap is the sweetest helpful person and made this class a super fun experience. Absolutely worth the money!

Sinuon was very kind and friendly to me♡ I'm very happy with that. The food is also very delicious! I learned about ingredients and seasonings, and they taught me about vegetables to replace in Japan, so I want to go home and make my own ♪ It's more than a price experience! I recommend it.

I can’t recommend this highly enough - a truly memorable experience! We started the class by having a quick trip to the market to see the ingredients at first hand. We then got started with our dinner! The class was held by Sophead who was great fun, really helpful and taught us how to make spring rolls and two curries! It was so much fun and the resulting food was sensational! Ho and try this if you are in Siem Reap!

Pleasant, friendly host chef and good introduction to ingredients and techniques. It was a hot day and all the working and eating spaces were only fan cooled but not uncomfortable. She rushed us through so the experience was just ~2 hours including the walk thru the market. She also offered us a beer with our meal which was nice but we learned later that was at our cost. All perhaps similar to other cooking experiences in town.
