A once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the incredible Badlands; first in the afternoon and into a golden sunset - followed by the official National Park stargazing program.
The best of both worlds, this tour allows us the view wildlife and the parks formations before the sun sets, and then taking on the park after dark!
Because Badlands National Park is not surrounded by big cities or other major sources of light pollution, night skies in the park are very clear. After dark, visitors can see many of the night sky’s greatest hits: constellations, the moon, satellites, and airplanes. But the special darkness of Badlands National Park helps visitors to see even more like planets, the Milky Way, star clusters, nebulae, the International Space Station, shooting stars, and – very occasionally – the aurora borealis.

This tour was perfect. Me and my friends had a private tour with Steve who was amazing. He picked us up at our hotel and provided us food and beverage while also giving us amazing knowledge. We are forever thankful for Steve and I named a stuff animal after Steve

We did two tours with BHTC during our visit to South Dakota, a four day self-guided bike tour along the Mickelson Trail, followed by an afternoon evening tour of the Badlands National Park. Melina and her team earned five stars. They were organized, friendly, local, nice, and very knowledgeable about the area. The vehicles were in good shape. They were always on time. We had a great time. This area is a hidden gem! Gage and Cindy - you guys were the best! Thanks for making our vacation so memorable. Look forward to seeing you on another visit!

I would highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting the Badlands. Our tour guy was exceptional and the sites were amazing. We saw all different areas of the park, had lunch and sunset cocktail with snacks. They completely customized our trip to suit our needs. We had children ages 12-32 and everyone had a fabulous time. Our tour guy was over the top accommodating and really fun to be around. Would absolutely do it again.

We had an excellent tour with Kevin! His enthusiasm for sharing this interesting part of our country & great story telling skills made the day wonderful! He was so helpful and I'm so very glad we added time to our stay in the Rapid City area to do this Badlands tour with him! This is something you don't want to miss!

The ride was absolutely amazing, and Kevin's attention to his guests is unbeatable. Not gonna lie, I got a little roughed up in the beginning with the heat and some climbing, but Kevin was ready with extra water, Gatorade, snacks, and rest time to help me bounce back! He clearly knows his stuff, as we harassed him with plenty of questions about everything from the area to the local wildlife to the history of the Minutemen Silos. The experience made 20 miles feel like 2 we were having so much fun. Very pleasant ride (after that hill :) ) and great company. Very worth the money, highly highly recommend, and have already to anyone who likes biking. Side note: I say social distancing and masks weren't required because we were outside the whole time. Kevin made sure we were all comfortable with the pandemic concepts.

We actually did the Black Hills Tour and the Badlands Tour with Black Hills Tour Company and I am so glad we did!! Melina was very helpful when we were making our arrangements and answered all our questions very quickly and thoroughly. Kevin was our tour guide on both tours and went out of his way to make sure we had a great time and got to see everything we wanted to see. He is very knowledgeable about the Black Hills and the Badlands including the geology, history, and wildlife of the area. His love of the area and his willingness to share his knowledge made for a great experience!! There is no one better in the Black Hills and Badlands!

We enjoyed spending the day with our capable guide Erin and one other couple touring the Badlands. Also included was a visit to the ICBM museum and missile silo, as well as Wall Drug. A tasty lunch was provided, too. We highly recommend this tour.

Excellent...highly recommend. Small group so able to personalize to get the most out of tour. Melina was our guide and she knew all the best spots for getting great photos. A stop at the Minuteman Museum and silo were a special treat.
