We provide pickup from central hotels in Baku, except for hotels located on Nizami Street (Tarqovaya) and in the Old City. Guests staying in these areas are kindly requested to come to the meeting point.
Candy Cane Mountain
The Candy Cane Mountains are shale mountains in the Khizi and Siyazan districts of Azerbaijan, part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. The 'Candy Cane Mountains' were originally dubbed so by travel author Mark Elliott in his guidebook 'Azerbaijan with Excursions to Georgia'. The mountains' colors are produced by groundwater that alters the oxidation state of the iron compounds in the earth.

5.00My tour was easy to book and inexpensive. My tour guide, Ilkin, reached out to me a night prior to my scheduled tour; made all necessary pickup arrangements at my hotel; showed up on time in a clean well-maintained vehicle. Throughout my excursion, Ilkin was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating; willing to answer our tour group questions. Can't recommend enough to book this excursion to “must-see” - stunning panoramic views, and some traditional lifestyles of high mountains inhabited villages with many miles of winding mountain roads next time you are planning to visit the beautiful city of Baku. Lovely fun time!

5.00This was a really well rounded trip and got to experience various landscapes in just one day. Lunch was included in the local village which was fantastic. Tour guide was very accommodating and great at taking photos!

4.00Nice trip. Great viewpoints of the mountains along the way especially at the end of the trip in the village. The multi-course lunch provided was excelent and quite a lot, we could definitely not finish it. Leyla was a great guide, very enthusiastic and helpful. Long bus rides, some seats are backwards. But it's worth it.

5.00Despite the rainy weather, this trip turned out to be such a great experience. Our guide Leyla was lovely, genuinely friendly, spoke excellent English and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the day. The driver was also very good and kind sharing his breakfast which made the long journey much more enjoyable. Even with the rain, we were still treated to some beautiful views. The highlight of the trip was lunch at a local family’s home in Khinaliq. Leyla took the time to explain the local traditions when it came to the food and tea! There were also plenty of rest stops, which made the journey comfortable and well-paced.

5.00Leyla was very kind and awesome guide. She told us about the history of Azerbaijan and gave us useful information. The whole trip was fun and unique. Our driver was also very experienced which is a must on those crazy roads. Definitely recommend this trip.

5.00Very well organized day trip. The guide, Leyla took her time explaining each stopping stops as the stop approaches within the vehicle. I felt like we got to each destinations ahead of other tour groups so we were able to enjoy the time to all ourselves. The home cooked lunch was definitely the best meal I've had in Azerbaijan as well!

5.00This fun day out was very enjoyable due to Layla’s infectious enthusiasm and impeccable time management. We had a delightful drive into the mountains with several stops along the way. The canyon drive was incredibly scenic and the village at the end of the road was picturesque and peaceful. Another highlight was Layla’s play list. Highly recommend this trip as a way to see more in Azerbaijan than just Baku.
