We provide pickup from central hotels in Baku, except for hotels located on Nizami Street (Tarqovaya) and in the Old City. Guests staying in these areas are kindly requested to come to the meeting point.
Candy Cane Mountain
The Candy Cane Mountains are shale mountains in the Khizi and Siyazan districts of Azerbaijan, part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. The 'Candy Cane Mountains' were originally dubbed so by travel author Mark Elliott in his guidebook 'Azerbaijan with Excursions to Georgia'. The mountains' colors are produced by groundwater that alters the oxidation state of the iron compounds in the earth.

5.00This was a really fun experience and I really appreciated getting to know our guide, Layla, and the other members of the tour. It snowed during the tour so we did not get to see everything we wanted but I still think the experience was well worth it.

5.00It was a tour to enjoy the beauty of Azerbaijan. The majestic views of the snowy Kandykane Mountains and the rustic houses of Hinagulu village were amazing. I also enjoyed climbing steep mountain slopes in a Soviet van. Above all, the attention and brightness of our guide Leyla made the tour memorable.

5.00Leyla is the BEST tour guide ever and this is the best experience we had in Azerbaijan. This is a must do and unique for amazing homemade lunch in Khinalig that no other tour provides. They plan wonderful itinerary - stop at Candy Cane mountains and Leyla took great pictures. Then the trip to Shahdag and Guba and Khinalig is unbelievable - gorgeous views, 2000 feet of elevation, Leyla gave fascinating history about these mountain villages and people. The lunch is the highlight - you see a small mountain villages in snowy Khinalig, eat delicious food (we had chicken pilaf, red basil soup, dolma, compote - extremely high quality lunch). Important to mention the drivers (off road driver) is extremely professional and expert - I would not trust others on these steep and snowy mountain roads. Cannot miss this experience!!!

5.00What a great day! Leyla was a star: fun, knowledgeable, accommodating to everyone’s needs, trying (and succeeding) to make us all feel good and enjoy the trip. The itinerary was great, with enough time for photos, and flexibility as well, great communication and experience. The lunch was superb, 3-course meal, all very delicious. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend it.
