Live a unique experience on a Semi Private tour, up to 6 guests/vehicle. Only local hosts, driving 7 seater 4wd, full A/C, vehicles ,will allow you to relish the 18km (12 miles) rough road route from Kaliviani village to Balos parking lot, which buses or minibuses can’t offer.
We don't hike up to Balos beach but just up to our favorite view point to enjoy the view of Balos from high above and take memorable photos of this magnificent view.
Last stop the Falassarna beach. A 3 hours relaxing stop, where you can enjoy the bright sun on one of the longest sandy beaches on Crete, swim in the crystal clear waters and sunbathe on the reserved - just for you - sunbeds really comfortable with pillows, at the 1st row of the umbrella's. The restaurant and the beach bar is carefully selected and reach our company's specifications.

5.00The guide, (Adonis, if I’m not mistaken) is the kindest tour guide you’ll ever meet. He has snacks, fruits and water ready. He makes sure your beach umbrellas are set up and that you’re well fed. And he makes sure to keep talking about Crete and Cretan history.
Breathtaking Beach, But a Terrifying Journey

3.00Journey We recently took an excursion in Crete to visit the stunning Balos Lagoon, which included a scenic lookout point and time to relax at the beach. While the destination absolutely lived up to its reputation—crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft sand, and a serene atmosphere—the journey there was another story entirely. To reach the lagoon, we had to drive along a cliffside dirt road. Unfortunately, our driver’s approach to this route felt reckless and extremely unsafe. He took turns at high speeds, passed other vehicles on narrow stretches, and hugged the edge of the cliff where there were no guardrails. Despite voicing our concerns and asking him to slow down, he didn’t adjust his driving. As a parent traveling with young children, this was terrifying. I even experienced a panic attack during the drive due to how unsafe it felt. That said, once we arrived, the beach experience itself was wonderful. The sunbeds were comfortable, and we had a relaxing spot to unwind. The traditional Greek lunch that was served felt thoughtfully prepared and added a lovely cultural touch to the day. In the future, if we were to return, we would absolutely go straight to the beach and skip the lookout drive. The natural beauty of Balos Lagoon is unforgettable—but it’s not worth the anxiety of a dangerous journey to get there.

5.00This is the best excursion if you are looking for some mild adventure and an opportunity to chill. Vasillis was the best tour guide ever. He was super knowledgeable about the history of Crete. Balos is gorgeous and feeding the wild goats was an unexpected plus and a highlight of the trip. The beach accommodation was nice and the multi course lunch that was provided was the best meal we had in Crete - No joke - and we ate at nice restaurants throughout our time on the island I would highly recommend this trip.
