a very fun experience with the fam! Chef was fun and the paella turned out great! Learned to clean seafood. The only drawback was that it was difficult for me to see and hear the chef at the market. Perhaps he could rotate the guests around so that everyone has the opportunity to hear him.

This was one of our favorite tours on a 2 week trip thru Spain and Portugal. The chef had excellent English and made the trip to the market and the whole hands-on cooking experience fun and interesting. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone enjoying good food and making new friends.

What a wonderful experience! To partake in prepping and cooking your paella, then tasting the freshness of the ingredients was an absolutely fantastic experience. Hugo explained every step in detail from shopping for the freshest seafood to the plating of our meal. Take the class - you won't regret it.

This was a great experience! Alberto and Maria were fantastic teachers, making everything very accessible and involved. The whole group truly had a role in preparing the meal. We ate tapas, mixed Sangria, prepared paella rice, and baked a cake. The portions were generous and the learning was fun!

Well, we are still talking about this incredible experience! From beginning to end, this was an experience to remember. Our cab dropped us off in an alley, but where the class was we weren't sure. Asking one of the stores on the street, they directed us down another alley to a very non descript door. My husband and I looked at each other and thought now what? Well, the door opened and out poured some very happy, smiling people talking very excitedly about something they just encountered. When we questioned them, they just said be prepared for a fun time. We were early so we waited. Within the hour we were joined by a group of people we were going to get very comfortable with, in the next two hours. And so it begins... We first did a side tour to La Boqeria where we purchased the seafood for the evening meal. Then during the next two hours we learned to make sangria, seafood paella, a separate chicken paella for the non-seafoodie and a yummy light dessert. My husband is a retired chef and he whispered to me half way through the preparation and said I didn't know that! Learning to clean squid was just an added bonus to the night! It was an amazing night from beginning to end and sharing this delicious Spanish meal with a great group of people was icing on the cake. Our chef was funny, informative and most of all patient. The best part of the night was the QR code given to us at the end with all the recipes for the meal we just prepared. If you are looking for a different experience and an evening of fun entertainment AND a fabulous meal with interesting people, join the GAB (Gastronomic Arts Barcelona) artists and learn to make some yummy paella.

Loved the whole package. Getting to see the market and how to buy fresh seafood was helpful. Cooking the main dish was fun and interactive, especially for a solo traveler. Matt was great at explaining everything and keeping us entertained.
