Santuario Historico Bosque de Pomac
We will go to Bosque de Pomac, located 35 km north of Chiclayo, this incredible place, a vast forest of algarrobo trees on the old grounds of the Batan Grande sugar cane hacienda, is dotted with dozens of ancient pyramids belonging to the Sican culture, descendants of the Moche.
Sican Museum
After that, we will visit the Lord of Sican Museum. Another fabulous discovery found in the temples of Batan Grande in the carob woods in the Sechura desert. The Museum of the Lord of Sican treasures a splendid funeral mask of feathers, gold and silver, as well as a display of how life was at the time of the ancient dwellers in the area. This was my first visit to Peru and the tours that I had set up while visiting friends were fantastic. Our Guide for the Batan Grande Tour was extremely knowledgeable and very Friendly. I suggest if you do take this tour you ask for Rosario, she was the best. Her years of experience made the tour extremely interesting while walking through dried out river beds and scant forest areas. December was the pre-summer months with little tourists around and the weather was beautiful summer in Peru compared to the Frigid temps in NYC. Rosario helped all along the tour always asking if we had any questions. My girlfriend and I had many stories to tell after the tour and both agreed that we would take the tour again only if Rosario was the Guide.

Overall very good. Couldn't see one of the archaelogical sites because the river had too much water to allow passage. Our tour guide was excellent - knowledeable, English very good, always on time for pick up at hotel.
