What To Expect
We make our first refreshment stop before discovering historic Queen Square and taking in the stunning views of the Royal Crescent.
The Circus
Then we visit John Wood's masterpiece, The Circus, learning of Georgian daily social life when we arrive at the spectacular Assembly Rooms.

5.00My wife and I were the only two to take the tour on a cold and wet day. James turned up full of beans and full of Bath knowledge. He was a very personable person with obviously a passion for Bath. We visited places that a lone tourist would not visit and we learnt so much about Georgian architecture. In between the history of Bath’s architecture we visited quant historic public houses that served excellent beers and cider. I can not recommend James’s tour enough. It was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Bath. Thank you James.

5.00Highly recommend this tour with James. Really interesting, he was very knowledgeable but also personable. Lovely idea to stop at pubs on the way. He was engaging and interested and the 3 hours flew by. It was a great insight into the history of Bath and we both really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend you book this tour when staying in Bath 🙌👌

5.00James was an excellent guide, an authoritative source of information and a heck of a dry wit! We really enjoyed this tour, it spanned everything that we wanted to know about Bath and you get to see things that the tour buses won't have a chance to show you. The pub stops perfectly punctuate the walking tour. Bath is a gem of a place to visit and this tour is highly recommended. Just for the curious, it does not include a tour into the Roman baths, that would be separate tour that you would have to arrange, but this tour does start right in front of it (at the Abbey).
This is the best way to see Bath

5.00Very informative tour with a small group. It was like a private version of the highly recommended city walking tour, but with frequent stops for beer. We learned so much about Bath's history and loved all our our guide's recommendations.

5.00What a wonderful walking tour. My son and I were part of a small group. James made a point of getting to know us personally as we walked. He is so knowledgeable and interesting, knows everything about the history of Bath and kept us all engrossed for the full 3 hours, which passed by so quickly. We found out about places like The Crescent and The Circus which we might not have even seen otherwise. We enjoyed the 3 small beers too in quaint historic pubs. We have done walking tours all round Europe including Berlin, Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Munich, Porto even Canterbury and Stratford Upon Avon and James’s walking tour is up there amongst the best
