Embark on an excursion to the Baztan Valley and Zugarramurdi Caves from Pamplona, a journey where nature, history, and legend intertwine.

At 9:30 we depart Pamplona for Elizondo, the elegant capital of the valley, famed for its stately houses, stone bridges over the River Bidasoa, and welcoming atmosphere reflecting Navarre’s essence.

After strolling its streets and squares, we continue to the Zugarramurdi caves, a unique natural site shrouded in mystery, linked to ancient akelarres and the history of witchcraft in Navarre. There we explore rock galleries that have fuelled myths and traditions for centuries.

We return to Pamplona at 15:00 after an unforgettable journey blending green landscapes, ancestral culture, and fascinating stories evoking Dolores Redondo’s trilogy: The Invisible Guardian, The Legacy in the Bones, and Offering to the Storm. The tour includes a bilingual guide, private transport, visits to Elizondo, Baztan Valley and entry to the Zugarramurdi caves.

We will visit the legendary Zugarramurdi Caves for a deep immersion into the fascinating history of witchcraft in the Basque Country. Set in a lush valley near the French border, the caves were once the site of pagan rituals that drew the attention of the Spanish Inquisition in the 17th century. You'll learn about the infamous 1610 witch trials, where locals were accused of practicing witchcraft. As we explore the dramatic limestone caves, we’ll uncover the social and cultural roots of the witch hysteria that gripped the region. The visit includes entrance tickets and time to explore the caves.
