"Wine and its production is almost a religion in La Rioja. For centuries, since Roman times, this region has cultivated vineyards with love and dedication to the present day.

Do not miss the opportunity to visit two different wineries on this tour, small and medium in size (we always stay away from crowds), to learn the secrets and traditions of wine production while we taste a tasting. We will also visit the medieval town of Laguardia, where time seems to have stopped, to see up close what the authentic life of the region is like."

Laguardia

The place lies over a hill and it is surrounded by a wall that the King Sancho the Strong ordered to build. There are still preserved five different entries to access the city. Their names are: Mercadal, Carnicerías (Butchers), Páganos, San Juan and Santa Engracia. Additionally, the streets and surroundings of Laguardia still keep a medieval atmosphere that give the city an ancient touch. Regarding the economy, its main strength is the wine industry. Indeed, the wine is elaborated and processed in numerous wineries.

This tour was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The winery visits were in-depth, fascinating and informative. The wines we tasted were delicious! The knowledge, flexibility and catering to our very large family. I know at times we were a challenging group, our tour guide made every stop memorable because she was SO helpful and kind! My daughter is still talking about how she is learning about olive oil and grapes.
