Firstly, you will meet your guide in Milan and take together an express train ride to Como.

All time for transportation (train, ferry, subway, etc) is already included in the tour duration.
The tour programme & schedule can change for operations reasons (eg train strike, bad weather, force majeure, technical issues of the boat, etc)
At the end of the tour the group will normally take the train from Varenna to return to Milan, but if you wish you can stay in Varenna to spend more time there and take on of the next trains by yourself (we will provide the tickets - this must be comunicated before 13:00 on the day of the tour)
During the summer period, there is a small beach in Varenna if you want to swim a little
The tour is always confirmed in case of rain
In the winter time (November-March) the tour starts 1 hour earlier (7:55 AM meeting point in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and 8:15 meeting point in Central Station), while summer time (Aprile-October) the tour starts 1 hour later (8:55 AM meeting point in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and 9:15 meeting point in Central Station).

5.0Loved this tour from the ease of meeting at the train station in Milan, having prepaid tickets for all transportation needs, a wonderful, energetic, and knowledgeable guide (Antonella), and of course the beauty of Bellagio and Varenna. Antonella provide great insight on where to sit to get the best views on the ferry, shared history, ensured our timeliness for transportation, and navigated each stop with ease. This tour was the highlight of my Italy trip!

5.0Out of this world experience - met our tour guide Alessandro at the Duomo area where we rode the train to the central station and then took two ferries to Bellagio and Varenna. Our group was a small intimate one of 12 people who were great easy going people and Alessandro was accommodating and friendly. We were provided a device (the size of a beeper) with a lanyard that you plug a headphone in to listen to Alessandro provide commentary on the ferry rides and scenic spots around Como. We started the day at 7:50am and got back around 6:30pm. The train ride was approximately 40 minutes to the town of Como and the ferry ride from Como to Bellagio about 2hrs (I went in November so it was chilly so dress accordingly) and we had lunch and time to explore Bellagio for about 2 hrs. After Bellagio we went back on the ferry for a 20 minute ride to Varenna where we explored the city for about an hour and a half and then took the train back to central city.

5.0Alessandro was an excellent guide every part of the journey. He was punctual and kept the tour on track at all times. He gave great insight on the sights and tips for navigating each of the cities. Bellagio and Varenna were beautiful and we had the perfect amount of time to explore both of them. Plus we had a great tour the Lake Como. Highly recommend!
