Everybody takes photos nowadays, especially while traveling. But there's a distinct difference between snapping a quick shot of a landmark and carefully crafting a photograph. The goal of this photowalk through the center of Berlin is to provide you with the photographic skill set to capture some of Berlin's most iconic landmarks in the best light. The blue hour is when a city is most photogenic. It's the time of day when natural and artificial light are equally bright and complement each other perfectly. Did you ever wonder how to capture those cool light-trails or how to get a shot of a famous landmark without any people in it? Well, I will happily share all of the tips and tricks I use myself to capture cityscapes during the blue hour. This way you will not only end up with some stunning shots for your social media, but also with the knowledge to make your next city trip a photographic success, too.

What To Expect

We will start our photowalk in the epicenter of Berlin, at the world-famous Brandenburg Gate. From here we will either continue on to the Reichstag and the government district to capture some photographs of contemporary architecture, or head down Unter den Linden Street to photograph the Berlin Cathedral and the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt.

I have visited Berlin several times, but I was never quite satisfied with my photos from these trips. This time, I decided to book a full-day (10 hours) photography tour with Fabian. Leading up to the booked day, I had excellent communication with Fabian, where I described the type of photography I was interested in and my usual approach to taking photos. When the day finally arrived, everything went exactly as I had hoped. Fabian took me to many different locations that I would never have found on my own without spending a lot of time in the city. He also provided valuable tips for discovering new subjects. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend Fabian to anyone looking to improve their photography skills while exploring Berlin.

What a great Berlin Photo Tour with Fabian to some of Berlin's sights! Fabian is a very personable guide, he can adapt quickly and well to people and capture the individual level of knowledge. He is absolutely reliable and communicative. He always answered my questions patiently and competently and gave me numerous useful tips that I will continue to apply. Great photos were taken during the tour! His enthusiasm for photography is contagious without creating a rush. The tour was also very helpful for me because I don’t know my way around Berlin and didn’t have enough time to find these good photo spots myself. Tips and funny tricks from Insider are simply the best. 😊 Fabian also offers more trainings online, which I will gladly use. On my next visit to Berlin I will definitely book a Berlin photo tour with Fabian again!

I had an amazing tour last night with Fabian. It’s my first time to Berlin and I wanted to capture evening cityscapes but also my historical interests. We were able to capture landmarks in a whole new way. I also learned how to use my own camera in a much more robust way. Fabian was patient and also answered all my questions! Great tour for solo travelers.

Fabian is a fabulous photographer and teacher. I learned so much in the short time we spent on our tour with him. Had a fabulous experience with Fabian last night. He is delightful to hang out with, has excellent photography skills and wonderful knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Berlin. If I visited for a month on my own I would still not have found the vantage points that Fabian took me to. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend to any photographers visiting Berlin.
