Amazing tour guide and tour! A full day of culture and sites. We also had stops at a great place for lunch and a local fruit stand. Highly recommend!

An amazing way to see the region without the stress of planning! The group size was perfect and our hosts were fantastic. We packed a lot into a few days, which was great, though it meant early mornings. Adonis was amazing tour guide definitely recommend.

My family is from El Salvador, but never had taken me to these sites before. I loved the tour! We saw ancient sites, beautiful lake views, and volcanic peaks. I went by myself and truly enjoyed it. You will be driving up a winding mountain so if you get car sick, do yourself a favor and take Dramamine. I highly recommend this tour to see ancient sites and picturesque areas.

We did not receive what we expected. We paid for a full day of Mayan sites and volcano hike but instead we were taken to 2 museums, and lunch at a restaurant with far away lake view. We paid 100.00 for each person, and the guide said he couldn't take us to the volcano because the driver was tired. We were promised a 45 min hike to the volcano, but instead all we did was ride on a tour bus. One's we got to Cerro Verde they told us we could only be there for 15mins pointless of the drive when we were even rush to just step out and come back in the bus. I could've drove my self to the two museums my self. The Best full day combo tour: Volcanoes, Lake and Mayan sites was advertized, all of it was not offered by our salvadorian tour guide. I will request a refund.

Alfredo was the absolute BEST tour guide! He definitely made our experience memorable. The tour bus had great A/C and was comfortable for the hour drives. Alfredo was extremely knowledgeable and truly helped us appreciate El Salvador and its beautiful culture. If you’re looking for a whole package experience this is it! From Mayan ruins, to nature hikes in the national park, volcanoes, lunch by the lake and the best iced coffee frappe we will certainly be back with more friends.

Overall a good tour, but there are things you should know. We were picked up on time and met our friendly guide. His English was easily understandable, but definitely not fluent. We had two drivers who never spoke to us. The two Mayan sites were not crowded and were fairly interesting, but very small. The first was a Pompii-like village setting that’s been excavated and you can see what several village homes and buildings were like. The second, Santa Andres had a pyramid complex, which we were excited about seeing, but it is only partially excavated and because the original building material was adobe, excavators covered everything that had been exposed in concrete! You really can’t see any of the original materials. Also it’s a fairly small site. Finally, the volcano viewing portion, IMO, just isn’t worth the time. It’s a long drive, if the clouds clear you see a volcanic peak (long dormant) off in the distance. Then you buy yourself an expensive lunch in a nice setting, but again it takes far too long. And the national park experience there is an absolute joke. Then a several hours drive home. I would seek out a tour that includes these two sites as l as the Tazumal site instead of the volcano. We went there on our own and felt it was a much more rewarding experience than the other two.

We had a wonderful day and felt the tour offered the perfect balance, allowing us to experience a little bit of everything in just one day. Adonis was an excellent guide who shared a wealth of history and insights throughout the trip. Although it was a hot day, the comfortable air-conditioned van made the journey much more enjoyable. While the fog prevented us from fully seeing the volcanoes, the Mayan sites were absolutely fascinating and made the experience memorable.
