Athens
The Rich and Powerful Ancient Corinth With abundant water, important natural resources for export, an imposing acropolis (Acrocorinth), large fertile land, and its unique strategic position, the city soon became one of the greatest commercial centers of the Greek world. Visiting Corinth and the Acrocorinth is a must-do for history buffs and fans of ancient Greek mythology. These two important historic sites are some of the most important in the Peloponnese and can easily be seen together in one day these cities, Corinth retains a number of impressive ancient Greek ruins that are worth visiting today. For hundreds of years, Corinth was a major Greek city until the Romans destroyed the city in 146 BC but they built a new city in its place Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece
Corinth Canal
Corinth Canal The Corinth Canal is a waterway that crosses the narrow isthmus of Corinth to link the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf. As such, the canal separates the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, turning it into an island The canal, though executed in the late 19th century, has been a 2000-year-old dream. Before its construction, ships in the Aegean Sea that wanted to cross to the Adriatic or anchor in Corinth, a rich shipping city, had to circle the Peloponnese, which would prolong their journey an extra 185 nautical miles. It is believed that Periander, the tyrant of Corinth (602 BC), was the first to conceive of the idea of digging the Corinth Canal. As the project was too complicated given the limited technical capabilities of the times, Periander constructed the diolkos, a stone road which allowed ships to be transferred on wheeled platforms.

A great experience in the ancient and richest city of Corinth including the Akrocorinth site and the new archeological excavations (not usually included in organized touristic paths). Our driver Panos was spectacularly knowledgeable and attentive, and he thoroughly compensated the poor info available on site. I cannot be more positive in evaluating this tour and I suggest other visitors to take advantage of the tour offer (even better if you get to choose your driver).

Wonderful half day excursion! The drivers were very knowledgeable and accommodating. They ended up giving us extra time with no complaints. I highly recommend this tour. It's highly worth the drive to experience Ancient Cornith. I would definitely recommend it!

We booked a rather expensive private tour on a Tuesday to ancient and Acrocorinth. The driver was friendly and punctual, Acrocorinth blew us away. We were extremely disappointed, however that the biggest stop of the tour, ancient Corinthos plus museum, turned out to be closed on Tuesdays. We only found out about it when the driver stopped at the closed gate. You’d expect the tour operator to keep informed about closing dates and not sell expensive trips when the main part of it cannot be offered.

Costas was a very good tour guide and driver who shared a lot of the aspects of history when it comes to Paul’s life and experiences in Corinth along with many of the sights in Corinth.

Absolutely incredible. Our tour guide was Andrea's. Firstly, a safe driver. He was so knowledgeable and would ask if we had any questions to make sure we understood due to a language barrier, but honestly, no concerns. He was fantastic and very easy to talk to. The tour was amazing. Quite a bit of traffic as early August but wouldn't mark down as not their fault. I'd also had to go to a hospital and when explaining this to Andrea's, he went above and beyond, collecting us from the hospital instead of us getting a taxi to the collection point 20 minutes away. The heat was very difficult for us as it was a heatwave, but the car had air con and a bottle of water for each of us ready and waiting. Fantastic tour and would 100% go again when a little cooler. 10/10
