Our slogging gang is looking for new recruits, so join Edward Shelby, a distant cousin of the real-life Birmingham gang, as he shows you around the city and teaches you the ropes of being a gang member in the late 19th century. Guides from our award winning in character walking tour company, Top Tours Global, will walk you through the streets the slogging gangs once ruled at night and explore parts of the city not covered on our daytime tour. How did the gangs use the canals? How did alcohol add to the gang problem. What did the city do to try to control it? On this tour, you will discover the answers and experience four unique drinking establishments, from real ale pubs to gin palaces and cocktail bars. Participate in some fun activities, such as drinking games and a pub quiz, while learning about the impact of gangs and alcohol on the city. Our night tour is perfect for hen and stag nights, birthdays, team-building events, or a great way to meet new people.

This was the most amazing night, full of historical information and lots of laughs along the way. We visited some wonderful bars which we would never have even known were there. Ed, the tour guide, was brilliant and he brought us all together as one group (us in a couple, a lady from Glasgow and a group of men from Holland) to make sure we got the most out of the night. We would 100% recommend doing the evening tour with pub stops.

Great experience with Ed. Fun mix of history, filming locations. The guide was engaging and knew their stuff, and the pub stops added a nice touch to the experience. Highly recommend

Our small group had a great time with our guide Ed and our fellow attendees, it was very relaxed yet remained interesting as we were introduced to not only various bars and pubs we otherwise would not have visited but also numerous interesting nuggets of information in-between drinking spots about the history of the real life Peaky Blinders. Most of us hadn't even seen the show, yet this did not detract from the experience as the information was presented in an accessible way. Thumbs up from us! 👍🏻

The tour was amazing, Ed is a lovely guy who had some great nuggets of information for us. Definitely would recommend if you're trying to learn some history while also finding some nice places to hang out and/or drink in the city.

Had a great tour! Tour guide couldnt be faulted on knowledge of history and was sure to point out facts over myths from the show. Had fun at the pubs and was a great way to see the city and learn more about days gone by. I went solo and felt very included. Thank you so much! Hope to catch you on another tour, best of luck Edward!

An absolute cold and stormy day but we didn't feel it, as we were totally submersed in old Birmingham. With an extremely knowledgeable tour guide, some amazing places and lots of chatting, this tour was a resounding success. It was fun, factual, interesting and also some exercise. Throw in the pub stop along the way and you're in for an amazing journey back into the past! A tour i would recommend to anyone! May just do it again when there isn't a storm!

Really enjoyed the tour with Edward. He was a very sound lad. He looked the part and I found him very accommodating and nice to deal with. Edward was very chatty and knowledgeable and I learned loads on the tour. He was able to answer any questions I had and made sure I was home safe afterwards. 5/5. Thank you Edward. Very enjoyable experience.

What a great night. "Edward" was engaging in his Peaky Blinders role play and showed us some great pubs and sites we would never have found on our own. He pitched the tone to match the group's interests with just enough Peaky Blinders and other aspects of Birmingham's social history.
