We offer scenic riding tours on the beautiful black sand beaches of Vík, South Iceland.
Our Black Beach Riding Tour is an easy-going one hour ride perfectly suited for beginners and people who don’t go horse riding often, but we welcome riders of all abilities. Our horses are friendly and sure-footed, perfect to enjoy the wild Icelandic terrain. In the summer there is a chance to spot puffins flying above us, and in winter the ever-changing weather highlights the rugged beauty of the landscape.
The tours are mostly at walking speed, but for those who are capable there is the chance to try some tölt, the special gait of the Icelandic horse.

It was a wonderful experience. You can see how much the horses are cared for and how well they maintain the stable. The guides aim to give you a safe and memorable experience. I would definitely recommend.

Sadly our actual ride was cancelled at the last minute due to high winds on the black sand beach. Safety of the horses and riders is the primary concern of the stable. However, we did get to walk around and talk to and pet the horses. They are cute and beautiful at the same time. We will definitely come back to Iceland and try again.

This small and family-run stable was absolutely adorable! My group was small and intimate and I felt comfortable having conversations with the two tour guides. It was almost like a private tour! The horses were very friendly and much smaller than any I have ever seen. I appreciated the route we went on, and even was able to trot with the horse- something I have never done before! A super fun experience you must try when you are in Iceland!

We were blessed with perfect weather and great guides to take us on the beautiful black sand beach. The ride is one hour long. The horses are funny and friendly and the tour guides were engaging along the entire ride. Definitely one of the best highlights of our trip.

What a beautiful place to ride Dear people, ride was well arranged and my daughter could ride independently (without adults). For us ride of 1 hour was sufficient and Eva loved the horse

My husband and I had such a great time on this horse riding tour! The horses were so sweet and gentle. The ride was easy-going, the staff was so friendly and the view was beautiful. It was my husband's first time horseback riding so it's beginner friendly as well. We also loved meeting Pumba, the stable cat. ❤️

This was the best thing I had in Iceland. Absolutely recommend. Fortunately, the weather was also nice. The horses were smart and sweet. The guides made sure everyone was safe.

A truly wonderful experience, matched us to the correct horses perfectly and suitable for beginners and more experienced riders too! My husband and I went on the ride and he has had no riding experience so was matched to a quieter horse whereas I was able to ride a slightly more responsive horse. The guides were so welcoming and friendly and really chatty when we were out on the ride. They pitched their advice/instructions to the right level for each rider whether experienced or not and gave clear instructions to those less experienced in the group. The highlight was getting to try the tolt gait! Pony’s all really quiet, friendly, and obviously really well cared for by the team. Would absolutely love to do it again! Highly recommend!

Lovely beach walk with a great group of people. We went at sunset and it was absolutely gorgeous. They took photos for us on our horses who were very well behaved. They even let you tölt (run/jog) for a while at the end. Such a fun experience!
