What To Expect

Lake Gatun

We will pick you up at your accommodation in downtown of Panama City to go by car to the Chagres river, highlighting several points of interest on the way there, where we will take a boat and get into the Panama Canal. We will pass by huge ships and experience the scale and importance of this magnificent marvel of engineering. Inside the Canal, at the Gatun Lake, we will arrive at a group of islands in a protected area in order to see as many species of animals as possible, among them monkeys, crocodiles, birds, iguanas, sloths and others. You will identify animals and develop your vision to spot them. This is an extraordinary and memorable experience, completely outdoors and that you will enjoy a lot! Note: This tour is going outdoors (jungle and a lake) therefore there is not access to a toilet, it is suggested to use the bathroom before pick up time that will be informed the night before the tour.

Good half day trip. Precise pickup, comfortable transfer in minivan, no hidden additional costs. Knowledgable guides, good English. Boat tour as such is same for all companies, it was fun - saw various monkeys and passed some big ships

If you’re visiting Panama, book Dan for your Monkey Island excursion! He made us feel safe, comfortable, and truly taken care of. What really set him apart was how he shared the real history and deep cultural background of Panama — the good, the bad, and everything in between. Our tour guide Dan was extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the city and island. Very personable and friendly. Truly left a great mark for us with experiencing Panama City. Dan was our tour guide, and he was absolutely amazing. He was so informative he even taught us everything about Panama and its history. Definetly recommend 100% I wouldn’t do this tour unless it’s with Dan. Loved every moment of it!

Alcy was out guide. He was great. Tour was a lot of fun. Go early in day if you can as it is cooler temperatures. Some of the monkeys came onto the boat, took fruit out of our hands.

This trip is an absolute must do. If you have the means to do it privately, do it privately. Nothing beats the experience of being in a boat alone, and having the full attention of the monkeys on you, not fighting to feed them, not fighting to get a good photo, not having to wait for everyone else to use the restroom, and not having strangers in the back of your photo. Luis was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgable about the history of Panama and was able to locate three species of monkey, bats, and iguanas for us to see. Everything we could have asked for and more.
