Sail some 35 kilometers through mangroves and wetlands while learning about the ecology and traditions of the Yucatan coast. Visit the flamingo feeding area, observe pelicans and herons and, if you are lucky, spot a crocodile resting on the shore.
Experience the traditional Mayan mud bath, an ancient skin treatment that uses fine white clay with natural exfoliating properties. Then head to an unspoilt beach to rinse, swim and relax in a tranquil paradise.

What To Expect
Parque Natural Ria Lagartos
is a two-hour boat ride where you can explore the majestic mangroves through the estuary canals, watching a wide variety of birds. Hopefully, we'll see crocodiles in their natural habitat to photograph them. Then we will continue and, not far away, we will reach where the beautiful pink flamingos are fed, where we can observe them from a suitable and allowed distance, without forgetting that we are in a protected area. After a brief stay with them, they will apply a skin treatment called "Mayan Bath" (exfoliating mud). This mud is excavated and not exposed to the weather. To finish the walk, we return to Rio Lagartos beach to remove the clay and enjoy the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Don’t be too excited and come visit this wonderful sanctuary, the “Ría Lizards Biosphere Reserve”, and live an unforgettable experience.

5.00An amazing and very successful trip! The crocodile-spotting tour was fantastic — we saw eight crocodiles up close. It was an unforgettable experience. I definitely recommend going with Martin, who is certified and truly knows where to find crocodiles.

5.00Martin was excellent to coordinate with and responsive. The tour was very nice. They went over and beyond to get us to see flamingos which was our main reason for traveling from far. We wish we had more time with mud bath and swimming but we did spend fair amount of time getting to flamingos. Truly an unique experience. Highly recommend Martin and his team
