During the eighteen and nineteenth centuries the garrison was the base and headquarters for members of the British West Indies Regiment in Barbados. 2.00The tour involved a walk around the outside of the Savanna horse race track, where a number of run down buildings were pointed out and we inspected some very old canons. We expected to go into the drill hall, tunnels and museum. But were expected to pay extra for these. The tour was also double the price of booking direct with the Garrison. Our guide was helpful but offered no more than if we had walked around by ourselves. Overall a very poor experience.
