We travelled with David who was a professional tour guide and gave the 7 of us a very personal experience. He showed us the local Temple as well as the cultural and street art district of Penang The orang utan sanctuary did not disappoint either. David brought fruit to feed the orang utans and Lena our tour guide at the zoo informed us about the individual stories of the orang utan families that we could vie. We enjoyed listening to the individual stories of each orang utan. Adam's story was particularly touching.

5 STAR Tour Guide; AVAN. Request him by name if he's available. Outstanding local knowledge, very friendly and engaging. Tour guides like him are what make outings truly enjoyable. He showed us more than expected and were impressed with his in-depth and very entertaining conversation. We liked him so much we requested more time with him for another day!

Peggy was our guide, she was very enthusiastic and informative and taught us lots about different cultures in Malaysia. She took us to various temples and to the jetties and because we had the time she showed us the street art. Seeing the orangutans was something special, the whole experience was definitely worth the money.

Leslie was an amazing guide and went out of his way to be sure we enjoyed our tour and had maximum opportunities to see the orangutans up close. He brought fruits to offer the animals, so they came up to the sides of their enclosures so we could see them and get some great pics! Everyone that visited the island at the time we were there benefitted from having Leslie there with us as our personal guide. In addition to seeing the orangutans, he also gave us a terrific tour of the Chew Jetty and surrounding UNESCO World Heritage Site, and also a bit of Little India. He even got us a samosa at his favorite Indian food stall! He is knowledgeable, personable and clearly cares about his clients. His professionalism is top notch! I would highly recommend him! As an aside, we had a small issue at the start of the tour when we couldn't find him. He'd told us where he'd be, but we didn't get all of his messages - including the one that gave us his photo. It turns out the issue was 100% due to a failure of our messaging app, and not anything Leslie failed to do. He was texting us and we were texting him on What's App. It's just that neither of us was receiving the others' messages. The issue was finally straightened out when I restarted my phone. The whole thing was clearly a software glitch on my side.

This was a fabulous tour. Chris stayed in great contact prior to the tour regarding pick up location for the ship. We had a wonderful time at the orangutan sanctuary. The rest of the tour was also very interesting and we saw all the places we wanted to see. Chris was very knowledgeable and a nice person to spend the day with. We were delivered back to the port on time.

Great guide - asked very closely about my interests and then pick the stops. Her explanation was interesting and personal - not superficial blah. The Rescue Station was unique, again the guide, a young woman, very dedicated and interesting, answered every question with personal experiences. At any time - especially since there were hardly any tourists, I could give the animals water and fruit to eat. A great experience with a guide for me alone who gave me still good tips for Penjang.

Peggy was so fun! She was well prepared to make sure that we had the best experience possible! We really enjoyed our tour with her and so appreciated the extra touches—she made sure we always had plenty to drink, brought treats for us to feed the orangutans, carried our bags during shopping, took photos and then sent them to us, etc. We would highly recommend Peggy! Thank you for the wonderful tour, Peggy!!!

Our driver Chrys took us from Penang to the Orang Utan Island. It was great to see these animals in there natural habitat. Chrys brought fruits and juice that we could give to the Orang Utans. We had so much fun! Chrys also made videos from us. She was very nice. The trip ended with a sightseeing tour of Penang. In a local bakery we tried some cake.
