Experience the beauty of Greece with our Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon tour, available in both morning and sunset options. Each tour offers a unique way to see this stunning area, complete with picturesque photo stops like the picturesque Vouliagmeni Lake.
The drive itself is a treat, showcasing the sparkling Saronic Gulf and charming suburbs of Athens. The main attraction, the Temple of Poseidon, sits majestically on the cliffs of Cape Sounion, where history and myth come alive.

From early May to late October, both tours include a beach stop for a refreshing swim and a leisurely seaside lunch.
Ideal for history buffs, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a unique day out, this tour is a wonderful way to explore the Greek coastline and its ancient wonders.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about history and facts. The bus picked us up at a nearby hotel and drove us efficiently to stops as described. We received tips on where to eat. The kids loved the ocean and the beach stop, and we relaxed. We walked the steps to the Temple of Poseidon and loved the views. We got back to the city about 2230, so we were tired but happy.

Really enjoyed our tour with a small group. It made it easier to get around as we were in a small bus and less people getting on and off at all the stops. Our tour guide was great and so was our driver. Very clear communication and loved the easy pick up and drop off. Would highly recommend!!!

Good mix of activities. The schedule was clear, good pace. The host/guide (‘Lily’) was excellent - good humour and provided a LOT of information during the trip out.

Our family of four booked the sunset tour of Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon on May 29 with a pick up at our hotel in Athens with Getaways Greece. Mirta was our tour guide and she was fabulous! As we made our way out of Athens to the beach she told us some history of sites in Athens and some must do activities in the city. Our first stop was a beautiful lake and then we went to a beach club had dinner and enjoyed the beach. Our last stop was the Temple of Poseidon and to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful place with stunning views. Highly recommend this tour.

It was really cool to see this structure over the water at sunset - however - this tour, in my opinion, makes 2 unnecessary stops - that make the other 2 stops you want (beach and temple) feel very rushed. I would’ve preferred more time at the beach and the temple. We were also a little late to the temple, and I wasn’t sure we’d get in! Otherwise - very cool experience, albeit busy like everything else in Athens haha.

It was well worth it. They picked us up on time in a nice mini-van. The host, Lilly, was engaging and friendly. She provided us with a lot of good historical information. Perry was a great driver.
