Bird Island is the only remaining undeveloped barrier island system in Brunswick County and is one of the few protected natural island areas in the mid-Atlantic region. It has pristine sandy white beaches, high dunes, more than 1000 acres of beautiful salt marsh and meandering creeks, and is home to a wide variety of birds, animals and plants.
Governor's Lighthouse
Pass by the beautiful governors lighthouse, the only lighthouse in Horry county. A local landmark, located in the small fishing village of Little River, SC the governors lighthouse was commissioned in 1984. It was built to honor all South Carolina governors past and present. The lighthouse is a facsimile lighthouse, meaning it cannot be used a navigation aid.

We traveled early November and found that we were glad that we had a jacket. Captain Mary and her First Mate Claire were very pleasant. Capt Mary did a good job of giving us some local history.

You will see plenty of dolphins on this tour, upon arrival and checking in it would of been nice to know you could pull your car down closer to were you would get on the boat, it’s a pretty good walk if you have problems walking

Saw more dolphins than could imagine! May 75 or more. Great trip. But if you sit near front expect to get wet a bit. And was a bit cool after that. Capt Mary and 1st Mate Claire were great.

We had Capt. Forest and a helper. It was a beautiful catamaran with very comfortable spaces, and room for our stuff. They played fun music we could sing a along with, announced where birds, dolphins, etc. Were, swung the boat around so everyone got to see. Then we had a 20 minute stop on an island to browse. We found a ghost crab, fish and shells. We'll worth our time.
