Bird Island is the only remaining undeveloped barrier island system in Brunswick County and is one of the few protected natural island areas in the mid-Atlantic region. It has pristine sandy white beaches, high dunes, more than 1000 acres of beautiful salt marsh and meandering creeks, and is home to a wide variety of birds, animals and plants.
Governor's Lighthouse
Pass by the beautiful governors lighthouse, the only lighthouse in Horry county. A local landmark, located in the small fishing village of Little River, SC the governors lighthouse was commissioned in 1984. It was built to honor all South Carolina governors past and present. The lighthouse is a facsimile lighthouse, meaning it cannot be used a navigation aid.

Way too many people on the boat to be comfortable. I was unable to move and was very uncomfortable the whole time.

The captain, first mate, and the cocaptain were all fantastic. We felt totally safe, boat was very clean, so lots of dolphins. It was nice that they let us go to shore on the island. Highly recommend!

Great time! The staff were all friendly, accommodating and upbeat. Drinks and snacks were available for purchase (card accepted). You will get wet if you sit on the outer sides of the boat. You take your shoes off to get to the island so keep that in mind. We saw a whole pod of dolphins but even if we didn’t it would've been worth the trip.

The captain was very funny and knew a lot of history. It was a great ride. We saw tons of dolphins. The cruise wasn’t crowded so it made it comfortable.
