Palancar Reef
From starting point to here will be approximately 45 minutes. Wherein you were be able to snorkel for approximately 20-25 minutes. 3.00The scenery is amazing and the snacks were good too, although we weren't offered drinks until the last stop of the trip. You are taken to 3 different snorkelling sites but unfortunately these were a huge disappointment. Understandably the whole group had to stay together in the water so you were unable to explore individually but the staff were not interested in their clients at all. At the first site, therere were so many people getting ready to get off the boat that we sat in the water waiting for everyone else and by the time we got to the place where there were any fish, we literally turned round and went back to the boat. At the second side, the fish were great but again, we stayed for a couple of minutes and were then herded to more of a sandy area with 2 starfish and no fish where we stayed for ages just dangling. At the third site (where there were fish and rays to see) the snorkelling equipment was taken in so you couldn't use it. Felt really let down by this trip.

5.00Took a quick taxi ride to The Money Bar ($20 US). It was very easy to find taxis at the port. Checked in and waited about 30 minutes to board the catamaran. The boat was clean and well equipped with life vests and snorkel gear. The captain and crew were very friendly. The boat ride to the first snorkel spot took about 20 mins. It was a nice smooth ride even with the windy conditions. We snorkeled with the guide who swam under us to take pictures. We saw many fish and coral. We climbed back on the boat to head to the 2nd location. This area was much more shallow and we were able to see starfish and different sea grasses. We then made the short trip to a sandbar. We exited the boat and were served fruit, ceviche, rum punch, and margaritas. There were sting rays and fish swimming around us on the sandbar which was pretty cool. The water was crystal clear and beautiful. We spent about 30-40 minutes here before heading back to the money bar. There is an $11 per person charge that is collected in cash at the beginning of the tour for a marine park fee, but they are very clear and upfront about that so there wasn’t any surprise there. Overall the tour was a great experience and we would recommend. The beach area at the money bar wasn’t very big, but we didn’t mind as we had already had plenty of beach time. We did order food from there and it was delicious! Took another short taxi ride back to the port ($15 US) and did some shopping before heading back on the ship. Also worth mentioning, the age range of guests was young teens to older adults (one mentioned she was 70) so it was definitely an activity most everyone could participate in.
We left money bar and took a boat ride to el Cielo. Then we still a boat ride to somewhere with starfish.

5.00Best snorkeling trip on the island!!! I went with my mom for her 60th birthday in November 2025 and she had the best time. She never snorkeled before and they helped prepare her!

4.00A little more time on Columbia Reef for snorkeling would have been nice and a little more "freedom of movement" in the water. Food/drinking was great! Crew was also trying very hard!

5.00We had a great time on this catamaran trip in Cozumel! The guides were amazing and the coral reefs were stunning! All around I would highly recommended this tour, it was a great time! Ending back at the Money Bar was also great as we got to continue to enjoy or time swimming in the ocean and enjoying great food and drinks!
Great but this excursion doesn’t go to Palancar!

4.00Be aware, they DON’T GO Palancar which is awsome. They go to a different place, which is boring imo. If you have been snorkling in Palancar you know what i mean. I talked with them and they said its a Viator/Tripadvisor issue. They never go to Palancar reef. Other than that, easy to get to Money Bar, friendly and funny great team on the boat. Surfed lunch was great, ceviche, fruits and chips and drinks on a surfboard. Nice trip overall, but not going to Palancar was disappointing.
