The history of Charité, Berlin’s oldest hospital, spans both the promise and betrayal of medical science. It is the story of the struggle to understand disease and also of what happens when a hateful ideology turns doctors into executioners. Although its beautiful red-brick campus feels like a world of its own, the Charité has not been immune to the whims of the powers ruling Berlin and has been the political instrument of Nazis and East Germany alike. On this walking tour, we will dissect 300 years of success, failure, and everything in between.

A guided tour with Anthony on the topic of Robert Koch / Charité inspired us today. He imparted detailed knowledge with anecdotes and pictorial material and various object inspections on the Charité grounds in an objective manner and thus created lasting memories for us. We will definitely book more guided tours with Anthony.

The information offered was linked together in order to provide an understanding of the historical process, its consequences and the contradictions inherent in History. An excellent connection between the physical space and the historical narrative.

It is so great to have a tour that goes "beyond and beneath"....this is not your superficial coverage, it is a tour that reveals details. You ask a question, and the answer is always another interesting path, and Martina can go down that path with you.

This tour, especially with this provider, was recommended to me by a colleague and I was not disappointed! The guide explained very vividly the historical development with the outstanding physicians and researchers. It was an interesting lecture with individual anecdotes that loosened up the story a lot. Thank you for that! The Hahn family
