Recently selected as one of the New World Wonders, Chichen Itza is without a doubt one of the most spectacular and important archeological sites of the Yucatan peninsula and Mesoamerica. The Maya-Toltec style; which can be appreciated in Chichen Itza is the result of the cultural exchange between the different cultures of Mesoamerica. The excellent restoration of this ancient city makes it an absolute “must-see” destination for any visitor to the Yucatan peninsula interested in history and culture.
After visiting Chichen Itza we cool off in an impressive cenote (flooded cave) where nature and mysticism will bring you to a whole new dimension.
Valladolid is a city where past and present come together to delight us with astounding sights of beautifully colored colonial architecture and tastes of an incredibly rich gastronomy. The tour was very well organised—nicely structured, yet flexible enough to adapt to the group’s wishes. Cesar was a remarkable guide with profound knowledge of Mexican history and of how Mayan cultural heritage has evolved over the centuries. He handled all our requests with great kindness and answered every question with genuine passion for his subjects. The fact that he was able to speak German with my mum was extremely helpful. My personal highlight was the bookstore in Valladolid and Cesar’s literature recommendations—right before entering a stunning cenote and experiencing the Mayan underworld. 100% recommended!

From timely and comfortable transportation, to a talented tour guide who was incredibly engaging and informative, our family could not have asked for more. We learned so much, had an amazing lunch in Valladolid with time to explore local shops, and ended the day with a phenomenal experience at a Mayan-run cenote that wasn't overcrowded (despite us visiting during a peak time for the Cancun/Riviera Maya region).

Wonderful day trip and incredible cenote. Marcos was an amazing tour guide. He had Italians and Americans to translate for and was so thorough to all of us. The cenote was definitely the highlight, what an incredble way to end the day. Also, the lunch was at a very nice restaurant (not typical for these types of day excursions) so that was a pleasant surprise.

We did the Chichen Itza, cenote, and Valladolid tour with Paloma and Arturo. They were great! Paloma was so knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience great. Paloma has impressive language skills and we enjoyed learning from her. Seeing the detailed carvings and some of the remaining colors on Chichen Itza was impressive.

Cezar, our tour guide made the day( ( 9 hours) with his knowledge, humor and his passion of history. He took care of all the admission fees and communicated in the local language with park staff. The tour was well organized, the meal was tasty and the cenote was magical. The bus had a/c the group was small and our driver drove safely, it was a great day.

Great day, arrived early enough to enjoy the ruins before the crowds and heat, amazing, not too crowded cenote for swim on the way back and a lovely lunch in Valladolid in between with a chance to do some shopping/look around. Our guide Santi was really knowledgeable, with lots of interesting resources to help demonstrate all the information about the history and culture - and even played traditional music for us on his guitar on the way to Chichen Itza. It made the two hour journey from Tulum go really quick. Very good.

We had a great day with Santiago our guide. Although it was posted in English/Spanish, Santi took the time to give some explanations in French to my 13-year-old daughter. By being picked up on the east coast, the travel time is a bit long but the sites visited make forget about driving. I recommend 100%.

¡Feliz Navidad! We highly recommend Mexico Tan Tours for your vacation in Tulum. My wife and I took the World Wonder Discovery Tour of Chichén Itzá, et. al. and the Classic Tulum (E-)Bike Tour earlier this month (sorry for the delay in reviewing) and had a wonderful time. We particularly liked that the groups were small (only 8 in each tour) and the tour guides (Leile and Alfonso) were friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to make everyone feel like part of the group. But I have to shout out to their customer service department, particularly Yadira and Tamara, who quickly and accurately answered our never-ending (sometimes repeated) questions (which started before booking and continued until we left for our trip) and arranged for pick-up at our hotel at a reasonable rate. Thank you so much!

I booked this tour based on the high ratings on Tripadvisor. My son and I had an unforgetting experience, seeing one of the Seven Wonders of the World on the same day as swimming in a cenote. Paloma made the day with her knowledge and attitude, and she was great with my son, who was the only child in the group. Thank you Paloma and Arturo!
