Communication with this company gets 5+ stars. Every question I had was answered quickly, and nearly a month before my tour I was already confirmed and contacted via WhatsApp. The night before, I asked about adding Lake Atitlán to my itinerary, and for an additional $50 they arranged it with no problem. My driver arrived promptly at 5 a.m., which I appreciated. I was a bit surprised—and honestly uneasy—as a solo female traveler when he arrived with a “male friend” in the car, though nothing inappropriate occurred. Our day began with about an hour’s drive to a breakfast stop. The restaurant was very clean, and the food came out fast. From there, we drove roughly two hours to Chichicastenango, where I enjoyed taking photos around the town. If you visit the cemetery, I recommend wearing a mask—the smoke from the offerings can be overwhelming. After about two hours in Chichi, we made another two-hour drive to Lake Atitlán. We took a small boat to San Juan, which was beautiful and provided more great photo opportunities. I attempted the hike to the viewpoint, but my sandals weren’t ideal for climbing. I recommend comfortable shoes and sunscreen, as the sun is very strong. After spending around three hours in San Juan, we made the three-hour drive back to my hotel. Overall, it was a very good tour with stunning scenery. My only hesitation in recommending it to others is the lack of historical or cultural explanation. Although the tour is advertised in English and Spanish, my driver’s English was about 30% at best to include his friend, so I didn’t receive much information about the sites. For that reason, I gave 4 stars and would suggest booking the tour in Spanish only if possible.

I had a wonderful experience with Kennet as my tour guide to Chichicastenango. He made this tour special for me. I was the only one on this tour. He was very patient, polite and had great knowledge about the history of Chichicastenango. He also helped with taking pictures that he sent to me immediately after the tour. I will definitely book with him again and highly recommend his services.
