  • A big disappointment -- avoid this service

We made the impulsive -- and wrong -- choice to use this service for a one-day visit to Tallinn. We could have done much better with an Uber ride or two. The audio narrative that's provided is moderately interesting, but could have been replaced with a few paragraph history of Tallinn. Although the tour promises 11 stops, only two are at locations where there are destinations of interest, so the bus just keeps driving, leaving the passenger to guess exactly where you are. The printed schedule and the actual schedule are not in sync, so planning is difficult. In the end, we just walked back to the harbor to catch our ferry to Helsinki.

  • If your coming in on a cruise, just walk to the old town area

I usually love the HOHO buses but this one I found a bit disappointing. As for the route, I wish there were some stops that were close enough to move between and skip the stop way out at the Tv Tower if you don’t want to go back out there. It is a bit of a time waster if you don’t want to go back out that way. Secondly, as we got off the cruise ship and onto the buses, we did the loop and then the buses stopped at one of the first stops and told us to get off and wait for another bus. There ended up being 3 buses stopped and not going anywhere, telling everyone to get off. After everyone started questioning what was going on, one driver let everyone on his bus and took us to the next stop at Toompea Hill and informed us that was his last stop. So we basically did a loop, the TV Tower wasn’t open so we stopped for a pic and left. Got back to the old town area and walked around and back down to the ship. Wasn’t worth it unfortunately

Very good. Bus stops in or near major attractions, stops are well identified and audio explanations are clear and comprehensive.

  • A great way to see the highlights of Tallinn

There are multiple bus companies that offer Hop On Hop Off, but the one we encountered was very friendly and helped us with the wheelchair access. Renar was the guy who sold us the tickets and kindly organized for us to do two consecutive tours so we would not have to get off the bus. Both tours (red and green) were very interesting and the narration was also informative. We particularly enjoyed the drive through the forest on the way to the huge TV tower. As the old town of Tallinn is pretty impossible for a wheelchair, the Hop On Hop Off bus was a good alternative for us to see a lot without having to struggle with the terrible old cobblestone streets and impossible sidewalks.

  • Nice trip

Very informative. Even though it was a rainy day, it was good to hear about the history of Tallin. Try it.

The staff is lackadaisical. Not at all enthusiastic about their jobs. One driver parked the bus and got out and sat on a bench. When we asked him what was going on he said another bus would be by in about an hour.

  • Rude staff - very average tour

This tour was very disappointing- the roof of the bus on the top deck was closed over, even though it was not hot enough to warrant the need for shade, and was highly unlikely to rain. The roof therefore blocked our views. The lady who “greeted” us was stony faced and cold. Not an ounce of friendliness so from the outset, our feeling wasn’t good. The tour is massively overpriced. We took it because my mum had broken her foot and we believed it would be a great way to experience Tallinn and learn about the city. When we got off and tried to return our headsets (assuming they would recycle them by perhaps changing the ear pieces) the same lady was rude to us and practically barked at us to go and find a bin. She was very unpleasant and clearly doesn’t like her job. It gives a very bad impression of a company that operates fabulous tours in other destinations. Very disappointing- I wouldn’t bother wasting your money!!

  • I wouldn’t recommend this tour!

Communication is poor with this company. The bus wait was over 20 minutes when they said 3. The bus couldn’t make it up the hill & fumes were making us all sick. It rolled down the hill to get to the port to make us get off and wait for another bus. The tour was very short & not informative. It was a waist of time and money. The bus is hop on & off hourly which they neglect to tell you too. Pick up ended early & we had to cab it back. Good luck with your trip!

  • Don’t do it, use other hop on hop off company

There is another hop on hop off company, use them. The bus was shaky to begin with and then actually broke down. Then the sign with the stop times says the times but when the cruise ship is in port times are different, the pamphlet we were given had no time changes. So we missed what we thought was the last bus and we needed to get a taxi. While on the taxi the next bus passed us.

  • Visit was pleasant and fun

Today we took the Hop on Hop off Tallin, and it was on time the 2 young girls at the cruise port who sold us the tickets were pleasant and professional, giving us the details of the timing of bus...only thing I was a bit disappointed with was not knowing the *number stops so it would make it easier for us to know where to get off as we follow the map ...if the drivers could do that moving forward it would be beneficial to visitors next time Overall, I do recommend
