This trek was a bucket list dream come true! Alpaca Expeditions made this daunting adventure for two active people but novice backpackers worry-free and so fun! They had everything covered (and carried—the porters are mind-blowing!) from what to pack, to how to pack, to coordinating your hiking permit, hotel pickup/dropoff, to providing your tent, poles, and food. Jhymy and Brandon were funny, kind, and knowledgeable guides—just great people that care a lot about you having an amazing experience. The food was incredible—the quality and quantity of food prepared and served at every meal was amazing, especially given that the ingredients and food prepared supplies are lugged up mountains and all of its prepared on camp stoves—the chef even made us a CAKE cooked over a camp stove on our last night to celebrate! The most shocking and relieving part of the trek was that all of the campsites have flushable toilets—I was planning for bushes so this was a very pleasant surprise. It’s a trip you will never forget with amazing people from all across the world that will become your family pulled off by some of the most hardworking people I’ve ever met. (Oh something I thought I’d need but didn’t was a book—the itinerary explains you’ll eat dinner relatively early leaving a lot of the night unaccounted for so I thought I’d need something to pass the time at night…nope! After dinner, even if it’s only 7:30 or 8, you’ll be exhausted. Also, the day starts early around 4-5am so trust me you won’t be bored at night looking for something to do—sleep came easily to me and my husband)

Alpaca expeditions exceeded all my expectations, doing the Inca trail with them was spectacular. Our Guides Saul Guerra and Humberto Tupananchiskaman were great leaders, created an amazing atmosphere, explained everything super well and adapted to the group in a very easy way. Super good food from chef Germán and amazing porters from Alex.

"Unforgettable experience! 📸 I did the 4d/3n Inca Trail with Alpaca Expeditions and I'm still on cloud nine. From day one, their team made sure everything was perfect. Chef, The food was amazing, the scenery was out of this world, and our guides Rolando and Efrain were absolutely incredible - so dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the Inca Trail. They made the experience truly unforgettable. I can't recommend Alpaca Expeditions enough! If you're thinking of doing the Inca Trail, they're the way to go. Thanks for the memories, Rolando and Efrain! Can’t wait for my next adventure with Alpaca Expeditions!

The most amazing experience with the Alpaca crew! Joyce, Abraham and the whole Alpaca porter and chef team were brilliant. We had an amazing time exploring the Inca trail and were fully supported by the team, including when an injury made it difficult to continue! Would highly recommend Alpaca for an unforgettable trip

I have never hiked for more than 2 days before and the 5D/4N option felt really appropriate with non stop views that I could enjoy, I would reccomend this for those with only some hiking experience. The food was much better than expected, it was restaurant quality with very generous portions. The porters were incredibly effecient and helpful. My guide Manuel was very well informed on several topics relevant to the trek.

Fabulous from start to finish We did the 5day 4 night whole Inca trail with alpaca expeditions as a family of adults and it was brilliant. The tour was extremely well organised and our tour guide Rolando was amazing, he was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with ease and we had a lot of questions!! He was knowledgeable not only about all things on the trail but also the local wildlife and plants we saw a long the way. He made sure everyone on the trek was well supported and included, allowing us to walk at our own pace taking in the whole environment along the way. The porters are exceptional and we were amazed at the way they are able to move on t his trail whilst carrying unbelievable weights in there bags, they did it all with a smile on each of their faces and you never saw them once complain. The head porter Juan made sure everyone knew their job and they were incredibly professional so and friendly always happy to help if needed. The chef Alejandro cooks 3 meals a day with a wide selection of fresh foods, my daughter is vegetarian and every meal she had her own special individual dish prepared fresh. The food is unbelievable and Alejandro even managed to make a cake on the last day!! All cooked in a tent, he is truly a magician! I can not recommend this tour company enough, they will make your trip to Machu Picchu an unforgettable experience, making memories that will last a lifetime.
