Syntagma
Syntagma is the central square of Athens. The square is named after the Constitution that Otto, the first King of Greece, was obliged to grant after a popular and military uprising on 3 September 1843. It is located in front of the 19th century Old Royal Palace, housing the Greek Parliament since 1934. Syntagma Square is the most important square of modern Athens from both a historical and social point of view, at the heart of commercial activity and Greek politics.
The Central Market (also called Varvakios Agora) is located between Monastiraki and Omonoia Square and is a must see if you like to explore the Greek culture and food The structure was built at the end of the 19th century and is open daily from early in the morning till late. The traditional food market in center of Athens, fresh fish, meet and vegetables full of local taste , colors and smell

Tassos was fantastic! He did a great job explaining the places, history, and the food. The value was also great, the food portions were much larger than other food tours we have done and we left the tour with bags of fruit, nuts, and olives. Would highly recommend!

This tour was wonderful and unexpected and the best tour we ever had! Visalia was a local who grew up in the city and has great knowledge of the area and all the places to eat. She knows Althean culture and traditions and how the Greeks do everything! Plus the history of the foods we tried, which were all so good! Her enthusiasm for the food and the people was infectious and our questions and conversations led us to other foods and fun off her usual script. We all had a lot of fun!

Tassos accompanied us in this culinary discovery through the streets of Athens , it was great and delicious. My children aged 11 and 16 also loved the experience and enjoyed it (special mention in slouvaki) Tassos is a super nice guide with impeccable English and lots of anecdotes to tell. Recommend without hesitation +++
