Enjoy complimentary transport from your Healy hotel or make your own way to Black Diamond Resort Co to begin your 4WD ATV adventure. Meet your guide, who provides you with a safety training and information course. Go over all the functions of your vehicle, get fitted with a helmet, safety goggles, gloves, and optional rain gear then hop on board the ATV for a trial run. If you prefer not to drive your own ATV, you can join the guide as a passenger aboard their 2-person machine. Then, it’s time to head into the Alaskan wilderness. Journey into the back country, traversing old mining trails that spill out onto the Dry Creek River Bed — an excavation site for Athabascan Indian artifacts. Stop to explore an abandoned cabin across the river, breathe in the fresh mountain air and make your way up Black Diamond Peak for spectacular views of the entire Healy Valley. Your guide fills you in on local history, flora, and fauna along the way. Break from your off-road excitement for a hearty, back country meal. Settle in for either a full-service lumberjack breakfast with fresh-baked biscuits and gravy, thick-cut bacon, and flapjacks, or dishes that include ribs, steak, chicken and fresh salmon, depending on the time of day. Juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and adult beverages are also available. Afterward, climb back on board your ATV machine for a wild ride back to your starting point.

Dan was our crew leader and helped make it an informative and fun experience. It's a scenic area to tool around with the ATV. It was a first time for me, no issues learning and using the equipment. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. The dining was great too. The cook and staff were very attentive and a family style rustic meal hit the spot. We were driving though water and plan on some of that and getting a bit dirty, dress appropriately if you're concerned. Highly recommended!! Thanks.

I had an amazing time! I was a bit nervous because it had been years since I rode an ATV and Treasure was an amazing guide and super patient with me.

Had a great time on the ATV tour. We were the only ones who were taking the atv tour(everyone else was in side by sides) so we got our own tour guide! Naomi did a great job showing us the sights and also had some great local info. The meal was very good and there was plenty of it. Also a shout out to Ross for getting us signed in and set to go. Overall great experience!

Started off with a quick, but required lesson on operating an ATV aka 4 wheeler. There were 7 riders and two tour guides, Marcel and Johnathan. Really fun characters who took their jobs seriously but fun. We took off on a 3 hr tour. After 1.5 hrs we stopped for breakfast. What a breakfast!!! I thought we were getting granola bars and maybe fruit or water…what we got was fruit, juice options, coffee or hot tea. Sausage and bacon, pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, potatoes and blueberry cobbler with home made whipped cream. It was family style and forcing all of us to meet those riding with us. We had a really nice couple from Scotland. It was enjoyable discussing food they were not used to eating. Breakfast was served in a log cabin in the middle of the trails. The trails were clean of brush, great sights, no wildlife, but lots of mud puddles. This trip was one of the best adventures. Dress appropriately! Easier to pull layers off. Gloves recommend with sunglasses. It was 55 degrees, but no rain for us.

This is a Black Diamond trip (small print). At somepoint we had not clarified the ATV vs the side by side but they were able accommodate. We had awesome views, stopping a few times to just soak in scenery. Midway we stopped for a very nice meal with a lot of offerings. The meal was served by our guide. Would tecommedn

We had such a great time on our ATV adventure with back country dining. Our bus service driver was very entertaining. (Although they could use a Bluetooth speaker and headset in there so the driver doesn’t have to wreck his vocal cords for the people in the back). We were greeted with smiles upon arrival. Told exactly where to go and Check in was smooth. Waivers signed. The safety video needs some work. Got our helmets and was on our way. We were pleasantly surprised that we got divided up and had our own tour guide. Abai was so nice and accommodating. My friend had never ridden an ATV before and right after we rounded our first corner she decided that the ATV was not going to be for her. Abai was quick to respond to her needs and radio’d to have a side-by-side brought out to us. Abai was attentive and made sure that we were comfortable at all times. We made some stops, got a little history along the way, took pictures and then took our meal at their back country establishment, Abai continue to take care of us during our meal. Food was good. We enjoyed the break. Would definitely recommend Black Diamond to anyone looking for an adventure!

Such a fun excursion. My husband and I had a blast. The views were amazing and the course was great, Mantis was a great guide. He made sure we were comfortable driving the machines and checked on comfort level frequently. He was knowledgeable about the area and had a great sense of humor. Dinner was delicious. Seeing moose was an added bonus. We highly recommend it.

Alyssa was an excellent, safe guide through the trails. The trails were fun and the views were gorgeous. I am not an experienced rider and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
