• Best school to learn Spanish!

  I have had one of the best times of my life studying Spanish at Instituto Superior de Español! I took private lessons for four weeks, starting with six hours per day, and added an extra hour after the second week because I enjoyed it so much. The professors here are very experienced (both of my teachers have more than 17 years of experience), patient, and extremely passionate about teaching the language. Before taking lessons at this school, I had taken online classes and six weeks of intensive lessons at a different school. After my four weeks here, my only regret was not starting with this school from the beginning to build a solid foundation in Spanish. Tania, my grammar professor in the mornings, explains concepts very clearly. She never rush through topics and make sure you fully understand the lessons through written exercises, assignments, and in-class conversations. My afternoon lessons helped me build confidence in speaking and holding conversations in Spanish. My professor, Vanessa, has a keen ear and great attention to detail, which helped me correct my mistakes and find better ways to express my thoughts. The practical afternoon classes are very flexible — sometimes we go out to cafés, take leisurely walks to the historic center, or visit nearby tourist attractions to practice the language in real situations. Classes with Tania and Vanessa were so much fun that I truly looked forward to going every day. Their passion, energy, and charisma made learning incredibly enjoyable. All the other staff and professors are also very friendly and approachable. When they say you’re part of the family, you really do feel like family. I learned so much during my four weeks of intensive Spanish lessons. Although my Spanish still needs work before I can call myself fluent, thanks to Instituto Superior de Español, I now feel confident starting conversations with local people and getting to know the country better. I will always treasure the kindness, warmth, and all the wonderful moments I experienced at this school. The school deserves full credit for teaching Spanish so effectively, and I highly recommend it to everyone. You will not regret a single minute spent studying with them. Once again, thank you to everyone — Tania, Vanessa, Sandra, Myra, Eugenio, Paola, the two Janets, Roberto, and Eugenio — for the unforgettable time. I’ll definitely visit again!

  My experience at Instituto Superior de Español school was absolutely amazing, everything I could have hoped for in an immersive environment. Members of the staff are skilled, dedicated, insightful, friendly and caring. They have built a continuous community where students and teachers interact amicably. The staff matched me with fellow students who were at my skill level in the group session and provided appropriate lessons in individual sessions. I was fortunate to work mostly with Paola, who is one of my favorite teachers ever, and with Roberto, who also is outstanding. These teachers challenged me every day but they also made me comfortable, modifying my lessons as necessary to keep me and classmates engaged. The schools classes are supplemented the field trips it coordinates with travel partners in and near Quito, which allowed my classmates and me to delve into the rich culture of Ecuadorian people, including indigenous folks; places such as Otavalo and the great food that rightfully gives Ecuadorians pride. Speaking of food, the school held cooking parties once a week, and we learned about local cuisine while helping to prepare dishes. Of course, we indulged. I chose a home stay, which the school arranged and was fortunate to stay at the home of Patricia with two classmates — not everyone will be so lucky. Patricia Ortega is an outstanding hostess and a creative cook, whose meals were invariably delicious. I safely walked 25 minutes every day from the family’s home to the school, which is located in Quito’s historic central district, which has good restaurants, museums and churches dating back hundreds of years. It is bustling with life. My Spanish improved considerably in my five weeks in Quito, thanks to a great operation that met me where I was in my Spanish-learning journey and took me several steps farther.

  The course was intense, and I feel I learned a lot. I had the opportunity to participate in several excursions, and they were very well-planned and fun. The teachers and the staff is dedicated to offering the highest level possible of teaching and to ensuring that we have the best time possible in Quito.

  I had an amazing time learning spanish at ISE! I did the Combined Spanish Course which was intense, so I would rather stay there for one week longer and just do the group lessons. Anyways I can recommend going there and staying with Val, she is awesome and really cares about the people, she also cooked vegetarian for me, which was great. Muchas gracias!!

  Great school and amazing teachers. The school provide notebooks with theory and exercices. There is a break with free breakfast, to socialize with other students and practice Spanish for those who want. The teachers are amazing and take time to explain, in different ways, to make sure you understand the theory. The administrative staff is reactive and very helpful.

  A welcoming school with a high quality courses. I have attended courses for 2 weeks at ISE in Quito and I really enjoyed it. The teachers are supportive, friendly and available for any questions. The material provided by the school is really well done. Also the teachers dedicate time for discussions which enable me to practice my Spanish and learn more about Ecuador. Really a good choice to learn or improve your Spanish.

  I loved my visit here at ISE for Spanish classes. Every one was so helpful. Eugenio, the director picked me up on a Sunday and delivered me to the door of Suzana who was my amazing host mom and she never let me speak English. Zoya was our group teacher and was funny and upbeat and never got impatient. She would go over a difficult concept until we all understood. Adriana was my private teacher who was also excellent. She would review with me some of the morning lesson, but we also had conversations about everyday things. I spent. Week in Quito and after some traveling fill have an additional week in Otovolo and Quito. And I can't forget Mario who walked me to the bus and helped me numerous times Tfh this school I guarantee you will love it

  We were there last week and the Services the school provided were excellent! From pick up at the airport, host families to classes and free extra curricular activities all deserves a 5 star rating. Our teacher Angelica and Adriana were really nice and knowledgeable as well and taught us a lot within a week. I can only recommend taking a. Morning class plus additional individual class in the afternoon!
