St. Peter and Paul's Church
St. Peter and Paul's Church The foundation stone was laid on August 15, 1859. The church was opened for worship on June 29, 1864 The church is built of red sandstone with dressings of limestone. The ridge of the roof is decorated by ornamental ironwork, partly gilded, terminating at the western gable by an ornamental cross with foliated arms.

You get a live expert of the area who knows it all. Our tour with Aideen in Cork was exceptional. Aideen shared the history and also added family history which made it even better. We traveled to Ireland with my parents, my brother, and his wife and they were skeptical about the walking tour. Aideen sure changed their perspective by the end! 5.00Great friendly and knowledgeable guide. Just the right split of walking and info, with lots of local lore and tips. We saw things we wouldn't have seen on our own. Helped us get a lay of the land. She used to be a teacher so she's very good at speaking in a way that is easy to follow and retain. Highly recommend!

5.00We had a great and comprehensive time exploring Cork with our most excellent guide Breda. She was kind enough to take us around the city on a late booking that started at 1600 and even spotted me an umbrella when I forgot one. Despite the rain and wind she kept my attention by not only walking us around the city but also painting the story of its rich history. We had a mix of history from the city’s inception all the way to more modern times. She ended the tour with a bunch of restaurant and pub recs as well. Really wonderful way to get familiar with the city.
