This cruise requires your own transport. Only 90 minutes drive, on your way to Kakadu, is a wetland experience not to be missed.
Corroboree Billabong is part of the beautiful Mary River Wetlands and apart from teeming with birdlife, it boasts the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world. View these prehistoric creatures in their natural environment cruising past our vessel or basking on the banks.

Add to this a spectacular sunset over the floodplains as we gently cruise around the Billabong and it`s easy to understand why this is one of our most popular cruises. Guests are provided with amazing photograph opportunities throughout the entire cruise as the sun sinks below the horizon. My wife, our daughter and I went on this cruise on Monday October 6, 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time on the tour. Our guide Donny was excellent. Donny was/is very knowledgeable and informative of the history of the wetlands and local area, as well as the various plants, birds and other animals that inhabit the Billabong. We were lucky enough to observe a large male croc sunning himself on the riverbank and later on observed another large croc on the water's edge. We also saw a large buffalo at the water's edge. Well worth the drive out, thoroughly recommended.

What an incredible wetlands cruise! 🐊🦜 We spotted jacanas, jabirus, crocodiles, and so much more while soaking up the peaceful beauty of the billabong—Mother Nature at her finest. 🌿 Wetland Cruises really are the best in the Top End (and I’ve tried them all!). Donny, like all their guides, is full of knowledge and passion—you can see the pride they take in their work. I’ve been many times, and every trip feels special. Just a 90-minute drive from Darwin… yet it feels like another world.

Paul (former drummer and chef) was informative and the cruise went really well until towards the end when we sat on a bed of grass for 15 minutes being lectured to about the environmental damage humans have done and hearing all of Paul's opinions on the topic. We could have used that time to cruise further along and view more wildlife and appreciate the natural surroundings. We then had to go really fast to the sunset spot and didn't have a nice leisurely cruise back to the spot which would have been much more pleasant. Paul has a lot of knowledge, however he let his personal views take over a little too much.

We don't usually do 'touristy' things but wanted to safely see some crocs up close. And wow, this tour delivered that and more. Our tour guide was Alan and his commentary was fantastic- just a great mix of knowledge and light humour. I'm usually nervous on boats but I wasn't worried at all on this cruise. In addition to the crocs, we saw jabiru, kites, darters and even an Azure Kingfisher. I highly recommend it.
